So Much News!

I took a week off from writing the newsletter and now there's so much news to share!

I've added yarns from another female-owned indie dyer: Round Mountain Fibers. I hope you love their yarns as much as I do.

I successfully dyed a handful of skeins using the new Wool Tincture Dyes. It was so much fun and so easy that I'm hosting a workshop in August so you can also have some fun hand dying.

August marks the launch of the new Stitching Help Desk. Help Desk sessions take place every Friday and Sunday from 12 - 1PM in the shop. (More info below)

And I've added a few new classes and workshops happening in September and October. Learn more about those below!

Remember to sign up for the September Weekend Stitching Retreat...before it's too late!

Introducing Round Mountain Fibers

Round Mountain Fibers is a boutique fiber-arts studio based in Brattleboro, Vermont. They offer an exclusive and unique line of hand-dyed yarn inspired by nature and limit distribution to only 50 local yarn shops nationwide. Each skein is lovingly hand dyed: no two skeins are identical.

The Willow Worsted base is 100% Superwash Merino sourced from New Zealand/Australia and spun in Canada. Each 100g skein has approximately 185 yards.

I will be placing a request for a Bernese Mountain Dog colorway!

Spotlight on Vernazza

There's still plenty of summer left to knit one more summer tee! I just finished this gorgeous Blank Canvas Tee using Berroco Vernazza.

Vernazza’s unique construction wraps colorful viscose around a core of undyed cotton and linen. The result is a sophisticated yarn which can be worked at a larger gauge for a relaxed fabric or more

tightly for structured pieces.

Hand Dying Yarn Made Simple

I had dabbled a bit in my past in hand dying yarn, but never enjoyed it. It was messy, time-consuming, and I could never get the brilliant colors I was aiming for.

I recently learned about Wool Tincture Dyes and I'm completely hooked on hand dying! Wool Tincture Dyes are pre-measured acid dyes in a tea bag, so there’s no mixing or measuring involved.

I've stocked all the supplies and am hosting a workshop on August 28th.

Stitching Help Desk Every Friday and Sunday

Have you lost your place in a pattern, forgotten a technique, or need to correct a mistake? Could you use some guidance? Join us for our new Stitching Help Desk Sessions where you can bring your project, join others and work along with the assistance of one of our knowledgeable staff members.

This is a communal help desk so plan on spending the hour learning with others and starting to enjoy your project again! Help Desk sessions are every Friday and Sunday from 12 - 1PM. Friday sessions are for knitting and crochet support. Sunday sessions are for knitting support only. Sign up in advance or just show up in the store.

New Classes and Workshops

In August, you can learn to Knit the Baby Surprise Jacket and to Knit the Pines and Needles Shawl! In the Baby Surprise Jacket class, you will learn the basics of sweater construction and piecing. So even if you're not particularly interested in a baby project, the skills will scale to an adult garment. This class is online starting on August 14th.

In September, there's a new class where you can learn the basics of Amigurumi techniques to make your very own stuffed toy! This class is offered as an "after school" class and learners 10 years and older are welcome!

Check out the Calendar to see all of the Classes and Events happening both in-store and online!
