President's Message
Craig Felton
2020 CTGCSA President

Despite a rainy day, what a great start to 2020 with our CTGCSA Legacy Scholarship Tournament at Olympia Hills  raising $21,687.00! This simply could not happen without  the support of our Annual Sponsors and Affiliate Members  who graciously donated product and services to a great cause. The  entire staff at Olympia Hills was awesome and your CTGCSA Board of  Directors worked their tails off securing donations and executing the  day's activities. Last but not least, it takes folks bidding and once again  nothing was left on the table. We sold out of everything and that's a direct reflection of you as supporting members. So a big shout out to you as well!

The McClure Match play is scheduled for April 20th at Kissing Tree Golf  Club. Russell Tippie has the golf course looking fantastic with over-seeded  greens, tees and fairways. Both Captains Bruce Burger (co-captain  Corby White) and Reagan Olson (co-captain Jarrett Eledge) promise to  have some great matches lined up for the awesome tournament honoring  Ted McClure. Mr. McClure represents the founding fathers of our CTGCSA Association.

June 22nd will take us to Horseshoe Bay Resort (Apple Rock) where we  will host the Superintendent / Affiliate Championship. Ken Gorzycki and  his team have recently completed a green and bunker renovation along  with cart path, irrigation and retaining wall upgrades. As always I suspect  nothing less than GREAT golfing conditions for this "Bragging Right's".  LOOK OUT Olson brothers, you both have a big Bull's Eye on your back  and Matt Cowan, you're no different!!

The world we live in right now is uncertain at best. Be smart, stay  safe and do the right thing. This too will pass.

Regards,

Craig Felton

Events Cancelled

With regret, the PGA cancelled several Spring tournaments including two events in Central Texas.

From the PGA - "We have pledged from the start to be responsible, thoughtful and transparent with our decision process. We did everything possible to create a safe environment for our players in order to continue the event throughout the weekend, and we were endeavoring to give our fans a much-needed respite from the current climate.  But at this point - and as the situation continues to rapidly change - the right thing to do for our players and our fans is to pause."

We recognize and applaud the hosts for these two events - Bobby Stringer CGCS of Austin Country Club and Robby Robertson of the TPC San Antonio for the effort of you and your hard working staffs. We are looking forward to bigger and better in 2021!
Patriot Golf Day is the largest grassroots golf fundraiser in America, and now we have new ways to make an even greater impact on the lives of military Veterans and their families than ever before!

This year, Folds of Honor has partnered with PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere). As a result, Patriot Golf Day will move to its rightful home over Memorial Day Weekend, a holiday devoted to the memory of the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Last year, with our efforts, Patriot Golf Day raised over $7 million-which funded over 1,400 scholarships. This year, donations received as a result of your efforts will enable  both Folds of Honor and PGA HOPE to better serve the needs of Veterans and their families through the game of golf.

We hope you will join us in our fundraising efforts in support of Folds of Honor and PGA HOPE, as we honor the sacrifice, shape lives, change lives and save lives through golf.
