Roundabout construction begins

at Ninth Grade Center site on M-58

As part of the spring and summer work on the new Ninth Grade Center, a roundabout will be added on M-58.

Construction for the roundabout is underway in the area between the Ninth Grade Center and Ray-Pec East Middle School. From now through May, construction will mainly take place off the highway. Lanes will be narrowed during the project.

As the project progresses, there will be intermittent lane closures. These will be flagged when they occur.

The Ninth Grade Center will open in August 2023. All ninth graders in the District will attend the new school. See pictures

Prop RP-1 is on the April 4 ballot

On the April 4 ballot, Ray-Pec voters will elect school board members and consider Proposition RP-1.

Prop RP-1 asks voters to authorize the district to transfer existing funds from the Debt Service Fund to the Operating Fund. The measure would allow the district to transfer 50 cents of the tax rate over a three-year period. The overall tax rate would remain at its current rate.

If approved, 100 percent of the amount produced by the tax rate transfer will be used to help recruit and retain staff.

Learn more about Prop RP-1 in the video above or visit this site.

Absentee voting is available for April 4 election

The April 4 election will take place during Ray-Pec Spring Break. If you will be out of town on election day, you can vote in advance via absentee ballot.

You can mail in your ballot or vote in person at the County Clerk's office, 102 East Wall St., Harrisonville. Absentee ballot request
