I am very excited that the Central Texas GCSA is participating in the
Rounds for Research auction again in 2016. As the Chairman of the Rounds for Research Committee, I know that the Board of Directors is strongly committed to funding very important research that will benefit all Superintendents and golf courses in Central Texas.
Rounds for Research is an innovative program aimed at generating resources to fund research and help ensure golf's future. The premise is simple: Golf facilities can support the effort by donating rounds of golf for two or four players or other items that will be auctioned online.Funds raised are fed back to the national and local chapter levels. Each portion is used to fund research relevant to the specific chapters, benefiting local Golf Course Superintendents.
The program was designed to address a critical shortage in turfgrass research funding and is administered by the Environmental Institute for Golf. Please check out this link to a webpage that provides a lot of background about the program including an informative video:
Would your course be able to make a round donation to support the program?
Donating is easy and can be done online:
Please let me know if you need assistance or have any questions. I am working closely with our GCSAA Field Staff representative Brian Cloud on the project and we are both committed to do everything we can to help make sure the auction is successful. You can reach me at

Our window of opportunity is very short! The auction starts April 1 so we are dedicating the month of March to collect as many donated rounds as possible. Thank you very much for your support. Please check out the Frequently Asked Questions about the program below.
