RUSD Board of Education honors National Merit SemiFinalists and
Commended Students from Rowland High School.
The Rowland Unified School District Board of Education recognized students from Rowland High School on October 10 for their achievement on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) who were named as SemiFinalists and Commended students.

National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist students are selected based on their high PSAT/NMSQT test scores -- less than 1 percent of the nation's graduating seniors qualify for this incredible recognition.  These students have an opportunity to continue in the national competition for college scholarships in the Spring. Congratulations to:

Ethan Hsu

There are 10 Rowland High School students honored as National Merit Commended Students this year -- these students are among the 50,000 highest scoring participants across the nation on the PSAT/NMSQT:

Yorbita's College Parade
Yorbita Elementary, a national No Excuses University school, held their annual College Parade where all students celebrated they are headed for college -- NO EXCUSES! Every classroom in the school selects a college they learn about for the year. At the parade students proudly marched with their college flags, banners and sang out their college chants. Yorbita Principal Amy Grigsby ended the ceremony with a promise and pledge asking, "Where are you going?" Kids shouted in reply, "I'm Going to College!"
