The annual Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale will take place May 3rd-4th, more details to come.

We will be collecting book donations for the sale on Saturday March 23rd and April 13th from 9am-12pm at the library. We would love for you to think of us as you do some early spring cleaning! We will also be looking for volunteers to help with the book collection days and the sale itself.

Look out for a Sign-up Genius coming soon.

Featured Artists:

In our Gallery: Primary Color Caterpillars from Pine Grove School artists

Kindergarten artists learned about primary colors and secondary colors, overlapping the circles and coloring with oil crayons to create this adorable caterpillar with so much personality. The background was created with the secondary colors of green, orange and purple using watercolor paint and/or Kwik Stix.

In our Display Case: Hand Painted Eggs

Linda Ashely has been hand painting eggs for over 46 years and has passed the tradition on to her daughters, Allison and Kristen. These eggs differ from the traditional Ukrainian Easter Eggs, in that they are created using acrylic paint pens, colored inks and permanent markers, not using wax. The designs take inspiration from the natural world, sporting flowers, ferns, bees, and bugs, and also many geometric and abstract patterns. The eggs are traditionally shared with loved ones to renew the bonds of friendship and love, and they represent the rebirth of the earth as it reawakens after the long, dark winter and, in Christianity, the Resurrection and the promise of eternal life.
