Roxbury Student Meal Order Updates

On August 31st, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it would be extending the free meals through the end of December. The extension allows meal program operators to serve free meals to all children through December 31, 2020.
Due to the overwhelming response from our Roxbury families requesting free meals, we will only deliver meals to our Free and Reduced families. Free and Reduced families do not have to fill out the weekly form. All other families will need to pick up meals for their children at their home school daily. The meal ordering form has been revised and includes the pickup times at the respective schools. Each school's form can be found at online here. Any families with children in multiple Roxbury Schools can pick up meals at one location, Roxbury High School, between 11:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. To arrange this, please email the Business Administrator, Joe Mondanaro at jmondanaro@roxbury.org with your children's names and their home schools. Weekly orders must be in no later than 10:00 a.m. the Friday prior to the start of the next week of school. There will be NO COST for this through December 31, 2020.
Families who would like to apply for Free and Reduced meals can do so in Genesis at any point throughout the year. Click here to view the Business Administrator's updated letters from September 10th and 11th.
rSchoolToday App - Daily Health Screening Roxbury will be using the rSchoolToday app to do the Daily Health Screening.
The rSchoolToday app has been fully integrated into our system and should be available to you. All tests completed by the district have been successful. Students have been grouped by their Blue/Gold/Virtual cohorts so that principals can easily review the data and assure that a health screening has been completed for every student who enters the building.
Therefore, please be reminded that the rSchoolToday health screening is ONLY for students who are attending school in person on a given day. Therefore, ONLY students in the Blue cohort will need to conduct a health screening and submit through the app on Tuesday. Any student who is exhibiting symptoms or responds affirmatively to any of the screening questions should not attend school that day. Fully virtual students do not need to complete a health screening unless they are participating in an on-site event, such as sports.
Please keep in mind that rSchoolToday is integrated with our Genesis Student Information system. Therefore, you must use the primary email address that is recorded in your Genesis account for either Guardian 1 or Guardian 2. If you need to update that information, please contact the Technology Help Desk at Student & Parent - Technology Help Desk Request or call 973-584-8121 (school or personal gmail account is required to view).
If you continue to experience any difficulty using the app, you have several options. You may call the rSchoolToday hotline at 1-800-513-5220 or submit a form to the District Technology Help Desk. As a last resort, you still have the option to call in to our Health Screening Hotline at 973-584-5868. The most important aspect to all of this is that we have documentation that your child is not exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, has not been exposed to COVID-19, is healthy and can attend school
Click here to view Superintendent Radulic's correspondence regarding this app and other re-opening information.

Teachers & Parents Gain Virtual Lessons at Roxbury's 'Parent Academy'
It was back to school a week early for staff in the grades K-12 school district.
But this time, in something Superintendent Loretta Radulic describes as "something unique," parents were able to join in on the virtual lessons, which dealt with dozens of topics from "Mindfulness for Relaxation and Better Sleep" to "Online Etiquette in Virtual Learning Sessions."
"Today marks the first professional development day where both teachers and family members join together to gain insights on a variety of topics from academic to social/emotional so that we can collectively support our students' growth and development," Radulic said in a Wednesday, Sept. 2 email detailing the program, entitled "Parent Academy." Click here to read more about Roxbury's Professional Development Days with parent participation from the Roxbury Register.
