RHS Reveals Winner of the Ice Cream Challenge
Roxbury High School students in the Culinary Arts I classes used the knowledge and skills learned in class to develop an ice cream flavor reflective of their local community. Students thoughtfully designed the flavors and created recipes that paid tribute to the many special parts of Roxbury Township.

Peter Freund from Cliff's Homemade Ice Cream here in Ledgewood, NJ selected the top three flavors which were Auto-Torium Drive-In Delight, Factory Crunch, and Vintage Cherry Soda.

Close to 2,000 of you cast your vote for your favorite flavor and the results are in! The retro-inspired flavor of  Auto-Torium Drive-In Delight created by Adriana Baker, Morgan Heddy, Justine Stubbs, and Kaitlyn Otto is our winner!

This ice cream has darker colors representing the night time when you would go to the drive-in movie theater. Chocolate ice cream is the base with Oreos, cookie dough, and chocolate fudge swirled throughout. This flavor was by far the most popular with voters with 52%.

Cliff's Homemade Ice Cream will feature this special flavor throughout the summer and you can pre-order gallons and pints by picking up an order form from the store.  Go support the Gael's culinary students and grab a taste of Roxbury history! Click here to read more about the results on our webpage under "In the News".

"Everyone knows what a block party is, and this is one like you've never seen before."

Hosted by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, the Block Party will feature 180 booths, showcasing equal numbers of small businesses, non-profit organizations and crafters. Live the Lake New Jersey is the main sponsor of the event. Guests will also enjoy live music, raffles, giveaways, boat and trackless-train rides, on-the-water demonstrations, a children's activity area and a food court with seating for about 100 patrons. Roxbury Urged to Thrill Vets with Lakeside Displays of Thank - June 30th
Roxbury people are being urged to show up in force along the shoreline of Lake Hopatcong on June 30 to wave, cheer and otherwise thank military veterans who will be passing by on the Third Annual  "Veterans Cruise."

For the first time, the Cruise will swing into Landing Channel at the southern tip of the lake, making the  recently named Landing Gateway Park on Lakeside Boulevard an ideal place for the patriotic to show their appreciation, said Roxbury resident Christine Houtz, who is helping to organize the event.

The veterans will be aboard the Miss Lotta, a vessel that offers cruises of Lake Hopatcong. Miss Lotta Captain Leon Moreau  recently took water depth measurements in the channel and determined it is deep enough for the craft.  Click here  to read more from Tap Into Roxbury.
