Our Colorful Blacktop
Students came back from Spring Break to find colorful new additions to the blacktop! Thank you Fund-A-Need 2018 donors!

The Fund-A-Need 2018 is an initiative for student wellness. Other items funded include Legarza recess coaches for the 2018-19 school year, new fitness structure (installation scheduled for this summer), new hydration station, PE equipment, and a new basketball hoop and funnel ball. Click here for more details.
Garden Corner
This week the 3rd graders planted corn, watermelon, and sunflowers! The class chose their spring seeds based on a detailed garden planting calendar that they worked on over several classes. They also crafted their own seed packets and brought home two types of seeds to plant. Ask your 3rd grader what seeds they brought home and join them in making your own home garden or adding to an existing garden.

The 1st graders this week investigated measuring techniques and talked about standardized measuring tools such as rulers. The students used rulers to explore the garden on a measuring scavenger hunt.

I hope to see you this Sunday at our garden workday!
