At last week's Redwood City School District board meeting, they shared an inspiring video honoring those who have reached longevity milestones with the district. We are so fortunate to have amazing professionals dedicating their entire careers to RCSD students.
I would like to join our entire Roy Cloud community in congratulating and thanking our hardworking teachers and staff members for their years of dedication and service. Please join our first virtual parent education night as part of our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program. Hosted by Sierra Daniels, our school counselor, and Todd Armstrong, our SEL consultant, learn about real life strategies on Stress vs. Anxiety and Encouraging Emotional Growth.
Join us on the Google Meet today from 4 pm - 5 pm. Spanish translation will be available and the event will be recorded for future viewing. Hope to see you there!

Site Council Election for 2020/2021 School Year |

The Roy Cloud School Site Council (SSC) has three open positions for parents to serve a 2-year term. Please vote on the entire slate to include Christine Andiazabal, Gina Krigbaum, and Elena Levina on the SSC. Voting will close Thursday, October 8th.

Tech Bytes: All About Dreambox
|

What is Dreambox?
Dreambox is a self-directed math app. The algorithm determines students' levels and gives them different math problems. If students do well in that domain, they'll get harder questions. If students struggle, the app will lower the difficulty.
How can I assist my child in Dreambox?
It's important that students do NOT get help when solving problems. When they get stuck, they'll click the question mark at the top right corner of the screen to get hints. Hints involve steps of what to do or videos that solve a similar problem. Students will get a different hint each time they click the question mark until they can solve the problem.

Students should work independently and use the question mark for help when needed.

Library Book Distribution Day Next Week |

Don't forget that the deadline for placing holds on books is on Monday, October 5th at 12:00 pm. Drive-thru library book pickup will take place on Wednesday, October 7th, from 9 am - 4 pm in the Red Oak parking lot. We're also looking for a few parents to help with distribution. Please see the Signup Genius to volunteer.
