Village promises continued post-COVID transparency
Council announces continuation of live public participating online meetings
Despite the resumption of in-person Council meetings, Village leaders say they promise to continue measures to allow remote public participation.

The Village Council recently resumed meeting together in the Chambers. Several safety measures have been put in place, including social distancing for not only Council members and staff, but for members of the public as well. But village leaders understand there may still be public hesitation to attend meetings in person. That is why they have promised to continue carrying the meetings on GoToWebinar, allowing members of the public to watch live and participate remotely in real time.

"What's important is that we will continue to provide the meetings virtually so that citizens are not compelled to feel like they have to physically come here, risking themselves or exposing themselves," said Royal Palm Beach Mayor Fred Pinto.

Video of the meetings will continue to be posted on the village website for future viewing.

You stepped up when it..."counted!"
The numbers are in and Royal Palm Beach is near the top of the list.

The Village had one of the highest percentages of citizen participation not only in Palm Beach County, but in the entire state of Florida.

According to numbers from the U.S. Census, Royal Palm Beach tied for the number two municipality in Palm Beach County with a response rate of seventy-six percent. In other words, only one other municipality in the county had a higher percentage of residents filling out their census. But Royal Palm Beach also was one of the leading cities across Florida as well.

The high percentage will make the Village eligible for more Federal funding on countless projects over the next ten years.
