"Sock"tober - Let's Make A Difference

Did you know that every night approximately 600,000 people in the US live on the streets? Some of those people are kids. Nice people donate a lot of things to local shelters, but most people do not donate socks. The good news is you can help! We are collecting new socks for the month of "Sock"tober!  Please help us by bringing in new socks and putting them in the box at the clock tower entrance. At the end of the month we will donate the socks to the local homeless shelter.  Thanks for being you and making a difference in your community.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's
Light The Night Walk

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk was held in Cincinnati on October 15th.  Light The Night Walk exists to find cures and ensure access to the best available treatments for all blood cancer patients. Braxton Lindloff, a first grade student at Summit View Academy began his first year of school last year facing the biggest battle of his young life.  Braxton was diagnosed with Leukemia in July, 2015, and spent many days at Cincinnati Children's Medical Center for treatment.  After several months, he was able to join his peers in class and began his school career. Braxton is currently in remission and enjoying life as a typical six year old.  Braxton and his family joined many others who participated in the Light The Night Walk to support The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The pictures below show what a great time Braxton had supporting this organization in finding a cure.

Transportation Updates

Bus Riders   -  If there is a question on the status of a particular bus, parents and guardians can access our new app, My Bus Buddie, which will display the  current status and location of that bus . The School District is providing a mobile app which can be accessed via a smart phone, laptop, or home PC (as long as the device has Internet connectivity and can access the Web). Should the transportation department wish to inform users of a significant delay for a bus or all buses, this app can show the anticipated delay time, i.e. one hour delay due to weather.  Click the link below to find out how to sign up for this app!
Car Riders  - New car-riders numbers are assigned each school year.  If you have a number from last year, please discard the old tag and request a new car rider number from the office for this school year.  Our tags this year are yellow, instead of the ones we used last year.  Also, for students in the YMCA/21st Century after/before school program, the numbers the YMCA uses are different than the school, so you will need both if you are have a student participating in that program.
