Middle School Schedule
Our new block schedule allows for fewer classes each day but provides longer periods of time for deep thinking, learning, and collaboration.
Monday & Wednesday are Lion Days. We have blocks A,B,C,& D
Tuesday & Thursday are Eagle Days with blocks E, F, & G
Fridays are Griffin Days when we see all our classes from 45 minutes each. On weeks when we don't have school on Monday, Friday becomes a Lion Day.
Roycemore MS Permission to Leave School Form
Please complete this form to grant your child permission to leave school at the end of the day independently.
Attention 8th Grade Parents: Please email Adrienne Floro, MS Division Head if you'd like your child to take the PSAT at Roycemore on October 14, 2020. The PSAT is great practice for college admission testing. The PSAT measures what they're learning, shows them whether they're on track for college, and lets them know where they need the most improvement.
Student Medical Records & Immunizations
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges to routine medical care, causing many children to fall behind on scheduled immunizations. In order to protect students and teachers from vaccine-preventable diseases we ask you to make your appointment NOW if you have not already done so. At this time, all child-health related requirements for school attendance, remain in effect for children in public, private, or parochial schools, as per 105 ILCS 5/27-8.1.
Health-related examinations and immunization requirements are due no later than October 15. There is no language in the Code that differentiates on-site/physical learning vs. remote/distance learning. Roycemore School must adhere to the current requirements as per 105 ILCS 5/27-8.1, and all students enrolled in school should show proof of appropriate grade-level requirements. Required physicals must be completed on the Certificate of Child Health Exam Form (completed in its entirety with required signatures). This form is acceptable to meet the requirements for a sports physical, but an IESA/IHSA sports physical form may not be used to fulfill the child health examination. http://www.dph.illinois.gov/sites/default/files/forms/certificate-ofchild-health-examination-03032017.pdf
In addition to the Illinois requirements, we are highly encouraging everyone to get the flu shot this year. With the symptoms of COVID being very similar to the flu, it will help ensure students and teachers are not restricted from school for extended periods of time and keep our community healthy.
CHROMEBOOKS ~ Nationwide Shortage of Devices
With so many students across the country learning from home remotely, Chromebooks have become nearly impossible to purchase through our normal channels and our anticipated order has been delayed. For that reason, we are asking that if your child has their own device at home that they prefer to use, we would appreciate reissuing the Chromebook they were issued to a student who does not have their own device. Please contact Mrs. Beth Shutters, Director of Curriculum and Innovation if you are willing to return your child's Chromebook and shift to BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).
