Roycemore School Summer Newsletter
Select Your Fall Enrollment Option Today!
On-Campus or Off-Campus
Camp Griffin Bug Hunt summer 2020
As part of our continued efforts to prepare for your children to resume schooling at Roycemore in the fall, we have created  a form for you to complete  to let us know whether you wish for your child to attend school as an On-Campus or Off-Campus student. This form also gives you the choice to opt-in or opt-out of food service.

Please complete this form no later than July 31  to ensure your child has a seat reserved in the classroom as we are limiting On-Campus enrollment due to the size of the cohorts required for recommended social-distancing protocols.

We are receiving a great deal of interest from prospective new families because of our detailed  Health & Safety Plan  and our  Academic Re-Entry Plan . However, our first priority is to serve our currently enrolled Roycemore students. We understand that some families may feel unsure of which option to choose. Please be aware that the form allows for families to indicate their uncertainty by selecting to following choice: "I would like to hold an On-Campus spot, but will keep my child at home until I feel confident that the COVID-19 infection rates have reduced to an acceptable level for our family's comfort."

At the beginning of August or earlier, each student will receive a customized learning plan that will confirm your child's option and will include additional details such as recommendations for the remainder of the summer to prepare for the start of school, schedules, and supply lists.

Important Medical and Safety Reminders
stethoscope_dr_pad.jpg
Medical Forms : Medical forms have always been required for all Roycemore students before the first day of school and that policy will continue for the 2020-2021 school year as well. This is a state law and we can not allow any students on campus without these forms on file. We suggest families make any necessary medical appointments now so that they can fulfill this requirement before the start of school.

Masks : As explained in the Health and Safety Re-Entry Plan, everyone in the building will be required to wear masks that covers their nose and mouth. This includes students, parents, staff, and teachers. Because ordering times can take a while, especially for child-sized masks, please consider buying masks now so your children will have them in time for the start of school.
Summer Camps & Courses
Inspiration Factory Camps started last week and it is so great to have our Griffins back on campus! A few spots remain available in the following camps coming up later this summer:

  • Survival Island July 27 - 31
  • Studio Art July 27 - Aug. 7
  • Storytelling & Bookmaking Aug. 3-14

We also have Camp Griffin programming running all month for ages 3-12. Spots are still open in some camps and the last week of camp will be August 3-7.

Griffin Greats
Please join us in another Griffin Greats series to hear from 8th Grade Class of 1998 Roycemore Alumnus Ben Marcus as he is currently running for State House Representative in Jacksonville, Florida.
After graduating from Jacksonville University and Santa Fe College, Ben is a small business owner, and a committed community advocate. As a national service alum with AmeriCorps programs and a community volunteer, Ben understands just how much can be accomplished when we all work together. He has spent his career working with clients and nonprofit organizations to realize their inherent potential and better engage constituents and stakeholders. Ben believes state legislators should first and foremost serve their constituents, and local elected bodies, not get in their way or work to undermine their will.
