HELP US NAME MIDDLE SCHOOL #2 & RENAME ROYSE CITY MIDDLE SCHOOL

Royse City ISD is seeking school name suggestions for the new middle school and current Royse City Middle School. As our community grows and adds a second middle school in August of 2020, we hope to get your input on possible names for each school. This opportunity allows us to honor some community members who have impacted our district.

We plan to seek namesake nominations during the month of October. A school naming committee has been formed and will select their recommendation to the school board on the official names for both middle schools.

The school name transition for RCMS will take place over the Summer of 2019. The school colors and Bulldog mascot will not change. Submit as many school names as you wish.
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE LEADING THE WAY WITH TECH INTEGRATION

This year marks the first year that all 7-8th grade students have a Chromebook Laptop for school and home use. With several hundred devices on campus, there are also growing needs in device repair and connectivity. Watch to learn how the RCMS Chrome Crew is meeting those needs and inspiring tech integration across their campus.
RCISD LAUNCHES HOMETOWN HEROES PROGRAM

Starting in 2018-2019, local police officers have an open invitation for tours and lunch at any Royse City ISD campus. The program, Hometown Heroes, is one of many new safety and security efforts being taken by the district. Essentially, specific officers are adopted by the schools as their Hometown Hero.

“For years, we have enjoyed great relationships with the cities of Royse City and Fate. Hometown Heroes is simply another way for us to show our appreciation for all of their efforts to keep our students and campuses safe. Whether they stop by for a cup of coffee or lunch, we just want them to know we are thankful for their service to our communities,” said RCISD Director of Student Services/Safety & Security Lloyd Blaine.

The program is designed to both familiarize officers with schools as well as increase their visibility on campuses. Dedicated parking spots are right outside the front door of each school. To learn more about Hometown Heroes, contact Lloyd Blaine at 972-635-5071.

HAVE A QUESTION OR IDEA FOR ROYSE CITY ISD TO CONSIDER?

Administrators at Royse City ISD want to know “What’s Up?” within the school district community. A result of the district’s newest Strategic Plan, the Communications Office has developed an online form designed for two-way communication. The “What’s Up?” form is located on every district and campus level page ( here ).

Website users can send questions directly to every campus and a variety of departments ranging from school safety and bullying to athletics and fine arts. Parents, community members and students are encouraged to send in their questions and feedback. By selecting a specific campus or category, the appropriate staff members will be emailed immediately.

“The goal of ‘What’s Up?’ is to make sure that people can easily ask their questions and share feedback. With more than 750 employees, it can sometimes be difficult for a parent to know where to begin,” said Chief Communications Officer Adi Bryant. “Having open communications lines between our schools and our families is so mutually beneficial. We can’t wait find out ‘What’s Up?’ within our school district!”

The form allows users to submit questions and comments anonymously if desired. An email address is required for response purposes. Try it out!
