After several years of working to clarify the ability for denturists to work with implant abutments, the Board of Denturists has finally adopted a rule. WDA fought off challenges from the Washington State Dental Association and instead the two groups were able to work with the Board to define the denturist’s role since these implant abutments are necessary for the fit and manufacture of the removable denture appliance within the Denturist Scope of Practice.
It becomes effective on January 22, 2024.
