Jeff Miller: Nashville Loopist
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Levity Brewing, 1380 Wayne Ave., Indiana, PA 15701
Jeff Miller has made a career out of doing what he loves. A talented songwriter and extremely gifted guitarist, Jeff has recorded several albums and tours the country playing his utterly unique brand of acoustic pop using a technique called "live-looping". So what is live-looping? Basically, its a process by which a player can record a musical phrase live, in front of an audience, and immediately play it back in repetition. While this phrase continues to repeat, the player can record another loop to layer over the original. This process can be repeated multiple times, creating dense, layered compositions mimicking the sound of multiple musicians and backing vocalists. You have to see it to believe it...  https://www.youtube.com/user/JeffMillerNashville/featured

Here's the scoop: Kevin Stiffler is a local photographer who has generously taken and shared awesome photos of local musicians over the years. Some of those musicians have gone on to accomplish pretty great things. When those musicians heard that Kevin had an apartment fire and was hurting for camera equipment, they decided to do something about it... like throw a big old concert and raise money to help Kevin. The Six and The Wooly Coats, with members of Pittsburgh rock groups, The Clarks, Sun King Warriors, Rusted Root, The Hawkeyes and Remaining Green will play in a few configurations. (It's NOT going to be a boring night.) Weather-permitting, we'll set this gig up outside in the parking lot. Inside otherwise. There are $10 tickets for sale (proceeds go to Kevin AND guarantee you a spot inside if it comes to that). For more information: Levity Brewing 724-840-7611 levitybrewing.com
