Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown: This is the third and final event of the 2026 Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown, honoring Gabe Zimmerman who was slain in the 2011 shooting of Representative Gabby Giffords and others. The event provides funding for the BEYOND-Tucson foundation, a local non-profit that grew from this terrible tragedy.

Souvenirs: We've ordered 1200 souvenir medals and race shirts, available to all Half-Marathon and 4-Mile registrants at pre-race at packet pick. Click here for details on the souvenirs and schedules.

Once again partnering with the famed El Tour de Tucson bicycle event, Run Tucson is proud to present the 3rd Annual El Tour 5k Run/Walk.

You can walk the 3.1 mile Downtown course or you can race it, with overall winners and age-group winners receiving gift cards to Fleet Feet Tucson. We'll use the same super-fast Downtown course as in previous years, with a finish in El Parque de San Cosmo, steps from the renowned El Tour Expo, with live music and beer garden.

An event designed for all ages, all abilities, and all bodies, every finisher in this chip-timed 5K will receive a souvenir medallion as they cross the finish line. 

Want a cool souvenir? You can purchase this nifty El Tour de Tucson soft cotton shirt for $15 as an add-on at registration.

Enrique Mercado

Those in the Tucson area may have seen the lead story on front page of today's Arizona Daily Star about the stabbing death of a bicycle rider on The Loop this week. You can see the story here. We did not know Enrique Mercado, but we offer our condolences to his family and friends. A gofundme account has been set up to support his children and family.

Jack Daniels

We did know Jack Daniels, though, and we've very sorry to see the passing of the legendary running coach and author of perhaps the most important running book, the Daniels' Running Formula, published by Human Kinetics Press.

Some in the running community are donating to his family's gofundme account to help cover the cost of his funeral. Details are here.

Paul Robillia

Finally, we're sorry to announce the passing of our long-time running buddy, Paul Robillia.
