Senior Center site selected
The Metro District Board of Directors, at their Jan. 28 meeting, approved the senior center site on the south side of Highlands Ranch Parkway at Ridgeglen Way, east of Broadway. The $12 million facility will be approximately 20,000 square feet, and will be built and owned by the Metro District. Douglas County offices, totaling an additional 10,000 square feet, may also be located in the facility and would be funded by Douglas County. A project timeline is being developed by the Metro District. Project updates will be posted to highlandsranch.org/seniorcenter.
The Metro District's Active Adult Programs and Services offers a variety of activities throughout the year including events, social opportunities and lifelong learning. Click here to see what's coming up.
Parks provide a great setting to host graduation, birthday and family reunion events. Park shelters, sports fields, horseshoes and bocce ball courts may be reserved for your private event.
Citizens Survey results
The Metro District contracted with National Research Center, Inc. to conduct a community-wide citizen survey in late 2019. The survey provided residents the opportunity to rate the quality of life in Highlands Ranch, as well as service delivery and their satisfaction with local government. The survey also permitted residents to provide feedback on what is working well and what is not, and to share their priorities for community planning and resource allocation.
