| Where It All Begins: A Word From the Chairman | |
Texas’s brain economy faces a defining challenge: investing early enough to build its future. At Rupani Foundation, we believe the first 1,000 days—from conception to age two—lay the foundation for lifelong learning, health, and opportunity. Nobel laureate James Heckman’s research demonstrates the powerful economic returns of investing in early childhood. For us, early childhood development is not just another initiative; it is the foundation of everything we do.

What a month for RCP! Our team continued its vital work advancing refugee and community populations toward economic independence, and the results speak for themselves.
Our clients are pursuing reflect both ambition and market demand. Across healthcare, engineering, transportation, and technical sectors, one hundred and forty-eight clients are now building toward recognized credentials and sustainable employment, pathways that lead not just to jobs, but to lasting careers.
| |
|
|
Enrollment & Certification
Enrollment and certification performance have exceeded expectations, a true testament to the dedication of our clients and staff. Compared to the month of July, by August, total certifications had climbed to seventy-two, reflecting steady momentum and a growing pipeline of credentialed professionals.
| | | |
Placement & Employment Outcomes
The ultimate measure of our work is employment — and this August, the numbers told a story of real economic mobility. Twenty-five clients had stepped into professional careers by August, with thirty-two more placed in jobs as of July. These are not simply statistics; they are families gaining stability, dignity, and a foothold in their new communities.
| |
Vocational Training & Certification Progress
Seven clients remained actively enrolled in vocational training through August, progressing across health, technical, and service fields. Certification progress varied month to month, reflecting the individualized pace of each learner — a reminder that career development is a journey, not a race.
|
| |
Support Services
Behind every certification and placement is a foundation of support. Our team delivered seven hundred and sixty-eight hours of ESL instruction and four hundred and sixty-four hours of career coaching, investments that directly strengthen employment readiness and long-term stability. These hours represent one-on-one guidance, language mastery, interview preparation, and the quiet, consistent encouragement that turns aspiration into achievement.
| | ECSH | Ethnic Community Self-Help Program | | August was a month of deep, person-centered impact through our ECSH program — and a month of genuine celebration. The progress below reflects our unwavering commitment to walking alongside families through every stage of their journey. | |
Case Management & Referral Services
Our team served one hundred and forty-nine clients through case management and referral services this August, walking alongside families as they navigated challenges and connected to the support they needed. Every referral is a lifeline. Every case is a story of resilience.
| |
Outcome Highlights
One hundred and forty-nine clients served through case management and referral, nineteen home visits conducted, four maternal care perinatal bags distributed, and one major Afghan Women's Empowerment event co-hosted with Catholic Charities, BEI, CWS, and IM Houston.
| |
Home Visits
Nineteen home visits were conducted, each one a quiet but powerful act of presence. Meeting families where they are — in the spaces where life actually happens — remains one of the most human and impactful things we do.
|
Afghan Women's Empowerment Event
The month brought a moment of true community joy. In collaboration with Catholic Charities, BEI, CWS, and IM Houston, Rupani Foundation proudly co-hosted a major Afghan Women's Empowerment event focused on wellness and cultural connection. We led childcare activities so mothers could fully participate, and distributed four maternal care perinatal bags to pregnant mothers, providing essential supplies for safe motherhood. This event captured our belief that empowerment is holistic: a mother cannot thrive if her child is not cared for, and a community cannot heal if its cultural identity is not honored.
| | Training and Professional Development- ELQN | | Quality early education does not happen by accident — it is built deliberately, through consistent training, ongoing mentoring, and the steady provision of essential resources. And this August, our ELQN team built beautifully. | | |
Fourteen teachers were trained and equipped with sharper skills, stronger classroom practices, and a renewed sense of purpose, carrying that training directly into their classrooms where it will shape the learning journeys of countless young children. But training alone is never enough, which is why our team also conducted fifty-four mentoring and coaching visits throughout the month. These visits represent the heart of our approach: not one-time workshops, but sustained, embedded support that helps educators grow in real time, in real classrooms, with real children. Alongside this, two resource boxes were delivered directly to learning centers, removing material barriers that so often stand between a child and a quality early learning experience. Training without follow-up fades. Coaching without resources stalls. ELQN delivers all three, because quality early learning requires an ecosystem, not an event.
| | |
Outcome Highlights
Fourteen teachers trained, fifty-four mentoring and coaching visits conducted, and two resource boxes delivered to learning centers — sustained support that reaches hundreds of children through the educators who shape them.

| Nurturing Families, Strengthening Communities | | A child flourishes within family, culture, and community. This June, we celebrated 35 mothers graduating from Informed Parenting and 55 children completing early learning milestones, marking a powerful journey from uncertainty to confidence, and from struggle to thriving. Our broader community efforts reached 116 individuals through health sessions on nutrition and maternal wellness, 264 participants in prenatal events, 181 attendees across four cultural celebrations, and 21 individuals developing economic skills through sewing classes. Together, we are strengthening the entire ecosystem that raises every child. | | |
A Helping Hand Changes Everything
He arrived with years of HVAC experience , but no American certification.
So he worked brutal shifts for $80 a day while his skill went unrecognized.
A short course. A documentation attestation. A few hours of guidance.
Today, he is a certified HVAC technician earning $75,000 a year.
Mentorship is not kindness — it is necessity. Without it, how many capable people remain unhelped?
But we have the power to change that.

The Moment That Makes Every Parent Question Themselves
You are in a grocery store, or a parking lot, or perhaps just your own living room with guests over. Your child wants something they cannot have. Or perhaps they want to do something they cannot do. Or maybe, and this is the version that drives parents most crazy, there is no discernible reason at all. They simply dissolve....
| | | Beyond Child Care: Advancing Early Childhood Development | | | | |
When Nora and Jose Galindo took in their two young grandchildren, love came naturally, but a quiet worry lingered: Are we giving them what they truly need to thrive?
Then they enrolled in ELQN's Early Childhood classes and discovered that the most meaningful learning happens through simple, intentional moments, reading, singing, talking, and playing together.
Soon, morning routines and evening walks became filled with stories, laughter, and connection. A simple doctor play kit turned into a tool for empathy, cooperation, and problem-solving.
Watch the full video to experience their inspiring journey from uncertainty to empowered caregiving.

Strategic Planning Meeting
We recently held our first round of strategic planning consultations as we navigate the closure of federal funding and the transition of some programs. Even in this changing landscape, we remain deeply committed to the vision and mission championed by our leader, Mr. Nasruddin Rupani: making early childhood development accessible, affordable, and available to all; placing maternal mental health at the cornerstone of early childhood development; and supporting families through career pathways that help build secure, economically stable homes where every child can thrive.
| | Chairman Nasruddin Rupani Calls for Early Childhood Investment at UNGA 81 Side Event | | |
At a Side Event at UNGA 81, Chairman Nasruddin Rupani, participated as a venture philanthropist. He shared his insights on the pledges and resolve shaping our shared future, particularly the progressive affirmations from the Global South driving Education for All.
Speaking to a room of global leaders, policymakers, and practitioners, Chairman Rupani laid out a bold vision: the Brain Economy starts long before the workforce, it starts in the first 1,000 days.
His message was direct: early childhood development is not a welfare line item, it is the foundation of every thriving economy.
But vision alone isn't enough. He called for cross-sector alignment across health, education, nutrition, and social protection, and warned that inclusion cannot remain a checkbox, real inclusion means access, participation and support.
In the post-SDG era, he argued, the measure of success isn't coverage, it's equity.
