RIRG Program 2024 Intake

Call for Applications


The Rural Integrated Roads for Growth (RIRG) Program application intake for road, bridge, and large diameter culvert projects has now opened!


The deadline to apply is November 15, 2024. The application forms are linked below.

Registration for the 2024 SARM Midterm Convention is now open! RM offices received an email from SARM on September 5th outlining the registration process as well as the applicable fees for attendance. Please note lunches will no longer be included in the convention registration fee. You must indicate that you would like to purchase lunches through your registration form for each applicable attendee.


The deadline to register/revise your registration is Friday, November 8, 2024.


SARM members can request to change the names listed on their registration forms following the municipal elections until November 15th but will not be able to change the total number of delegates registered as attending after November 8th.

2024 SARM Midterm Resolution Deadline

 

The deadline to submit resolutions for the upcoming 2024 SARM Midterm Convention is Wednesday, September, 18, 2024, end of day. 

 

Resolutions must be received in the SARM office by this date in order to be addressed at the upcoming convention and included in the convention guide.

Each resolution must be emailed separately using the fillable submission form.

Nutrien Building Stronger Communities Together Grant


The Nutrien Building Stronger Communities Together Grant was created to celebrate Nutrien’s 65 year legacy in the province of Saskatchewan. Nutrien is excited to offer 65 organizations across the province a $2,500 grant each, aimed at supporting community resilience and growth.

 

The deadline for organizations to submit their applications is September 30, 2024

The following are upcoming important deadlines for the SCIC's AgriStability and Crop Insurance programs in the month of September. Please see further details below.

AgriStability



AgriStability is designed to provide financial support for farm operations facing large margin declines caused by production loss, increased costs and/or declining market conditions. Coverage is for the whole farm and is personalized based on each farm’s history.

Crop Insurance


Crop Insurance provides insurance for crops that experience a loss in yield, whether due to an insurable cause of loss in the quality or quantity of the insured crop.


The deadline to file your Forage Declarations, register forage yield-loss claims or request an extension of insurance on unharvested forage acres, and seed fall rye and winter wheat and be eligible for winterkill insurance is September 30, 2024. Learn more through the link below.

SGI Public Grants Announcement


SARM has been in contact with SGI regarding the availability of grants to improve traffic safety within RMs. SGI offers a Provincial Traffic Safety Fund Grant program. Its goal is to stimulate and support local, collaborative action that will increase traffic safety awareness. 


The deadline for submissions for the fall intake is September 30, 2024.

SARM encourages its members to look at the program. So far in 2024, 15 RMs have taken advantage of the program with $228,526 in grants being provided as of June 30, 2024. This program is a great initiative by SGI to try and reduce traffic accidents and make our roadways safer.

RCMP Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams Continue To Deliver Results


Investments by the Government of Saskatchewan into the RCMP's Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams (SERT) continue to deliver results in targeting criminal activity in the province. RCMP's SERT team includes their Crime Reduction Team (CRT), Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT), and Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST).

 

From December 2023 through July 2024, RCMP SERT teams seized a total of 128 firearms, over $196,000 CAD, more than 940 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 5,000 grams of cocaine, and over 456,000 packs of illegal tobacco.

Crop Report for the Period of August 27 to September 2, 2024


Harvest has progressed quickly throughout most of the province over the past week. Currently, 42 per cent of the 2024 crop has been harvested, which is up from the 25 per cent reported last week. This is ahead of the five-year average of 34 per cent and the 10-year average of 31 per cent. Producers are hopeful for favourable weather to further advance harvest operations throughout the province in the coming weeks.
