We are now offering tracks for our preconference agenda! The Rural Health Association of Tennessee is celebrating 30 years of hosting its annual conference, offering educational content and tracks for rural healthcare providers and stakeholders. Preconference is tailored to professionals in rural clinics, hospitals, public health, school health, mental health, and organizations addressing social drivers of health.

Maternal Health Mental Health First Aid Training


Rural Health Association and TN-RCORP invite you to participate in Adult Mental Health First Aid for maternal health professionals. MHFA for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions. To register, click here.

  • Improving Access to Medicines for People Living with Mental Illness During this 45-minute webinar, Dr. Madelaine Feldman, a rheumatologist and patient advocate, will discuss how insurance coverage can limit access and impact patient out-of-pocket costs. She will also dive into ways that we can change the status quo by advancing important PBM reforms that better serve patients.   • Parent 2 Parent Advocacy Training Are you looking for support with your child’s IEP, 504, mental health, child welfare, or juvenile court involvement?   • Falls Prevention Awareness Week Organized by the National Council on Aging, will be observed from September 23rd to 27th. The goal of this nationwide observance is to raise awareness about preventing falls as Tennessee has one of the highest rates of falls among older people. To learn more, click here.


  • Rural Emergency Preparedness and Response The toolkit compiles evidence-based and promising models and resources to support organizations implementing emergency planning, response, and recovery efforts in rural communities across the United States. For more information, click here.

  • World Alzheimer's Month World Alzheimer's Month raises global awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. It encourages education, support, and advocacy to reduce stigma and promote early diagnosis. For more information, click here.


  • National Recovery Month Toolkits September is national Recovery month. SAMHSA has curated a multitude of resources including toolkits to help spread awareness. For more information, click here.


  • 2024 County Profiles in Child Well-being The Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth has released the 2024 County Profiles for each county across the state. To access profile with overall ranking and information on 52 indicators of child well-being, click here.


  • Substance Use Recovery Support for Perinatal Moms and Birthing People Substance Use Recovery Support for Perinatal Moms and Birthing People is a peer support group for those from pregnancy to two years postpartum who are engaged in recovery or considering recovery from substance use disorders. The group is a peer facilitated space and is not a replacement for therapy, addiction treatment, or medical care. To learn more and sign up, click here.
