Certified Labor Doula Training Scholarships

RHA is offering $1,250 scholarships for certifications including Certified Labor Doula, Infant and Child First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid. Students receive $25/hour during training, totaling a $5,000 value per training.


After training, RHA supports graduates with practical experience by pairing them with 2-3 pregnant women, offers administrative assistance, and pays Certified Labor Doulas $45/hour for contract services with pregnant women.

Rural Community Opioid Response Trainings and Resources

  • East Tennessee Aging Symposium Tennessee’s Multisector Plan for Aging is a cross-sector strategic planning resource that can help transform the infrastructure and coordination of services to meet the needs of older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers. Learn more about this September 29th event here.



  • Rural Recruitment and Retention Academy The State Office of Rural Health for six webinars featuring national experts on Rural/Underserved Retention for health care practitioners and help employers learn more about successfully recruiting and retaining health care professionals with 3RNET. The first webinar is on October 3rd. Learn more and register here

 

  • Navigating the Dangers in Collective Impact This October 13th workshop will go through 10 challenges that often hinder a collective and share some practices and principles to navigate through them and help set an initiative on a path forward. Register here by October 6th.


  • Spanish Teen Group Join for a safe space to process the mental challenges of being a teen. Open to ages of 14-17. The group will meet on Tuesdays, dates included: Sept. 26, Oct. 3, 10, 17, and 24. For more information and registration click here.

  • Tennessee Disability Pathfinder This resource hub makes it easy to find resources for those with disabilities, even within our rural communities. Learn more about the Pathfinder here.


  • 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline If you or someone you know is in crisis and needs help, call or text 988. The 988 Lifeline connects you with a trained crisis counselor who can help. It is free, confidential, and available 24/7. If this is a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. 


  • COVID Data COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths are increasing mostly in adults 65 years and older and in infants and children, especially infants younger than 6 months. Be aware of COVID-19 levels in your area by visiting the COVID Data Tracker. 



  • New Resources to Understand and Use Z-Codes The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Office of Minority Health released a new infographic to assist providers with understanding Z codes as a tool to improve the quality and collection of health equity data. View the new infographic here.



  • Appalachian Diseases of Despair This final report provides information on Appalachian mortality disparities due to overdose, suicide, and alcoholic liver disease/cirrhosis among people ages 15-64. Find the final report here.
