Naloxone Training Event


Join RHA and Regional Overdose Prevention Specialist (ROPS) Marissa Valentine for a webinar on Naloxone Training on June 27th from 11am to 12pm CDT.


Topics include: the causes and impacts of the overdose epidemic, the impact of substance misuse on the brain, harm reduction principles, recognizing and responding to an overdose, and how to administer Naloxone.

Each year, RHA of TN presents awards to influential programs and people who are improving rural health in Tennessee at our annual conference. Find the award categories here.

Call for Board Nominations

RHA is issuing a call for nominations from our members that would like to serve on the Board of Directors. The board provides governance, direction, and oversight of the Association and its many programs, projects, and activities. There are 3 seat openings (1 - West, 1- Middle, and 1 - East) for the 2024 - 2026 term. To be eligible, an individual must be a member in good standing and live in Tennessee. Nominations will be accepted through Tuesday, August 1, 2023. For more information and to apply, click here.

  • TennCare Renewal Events RHA trained assisters will be at Saint Louise Clinic in Murfreesboro each Friday in June from 9am – 1pm CDT; 1020 N Highland Ave A, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. We will be available to help individuals determine if they are still eligible for TennCare and provide other helpful information. Can’t attend the event?   • Stroudwater’s 3rd Annual CAH Regional Virtual Conference The conference will provide vital information for organizational best practices and cover subjects such as health equity, financial readiness, revenue cycle training, physician compensation, and other topics significant in rural and community healthcare on June 15th -16th.   • The Ecosystem of Health Equity Measures: A Workshop The National Academies’ Roundtable on Population Health Improvement will host a public workshop to examine the state, use of, research on, and effects of health equity metrics at every level of the health ecosystem on June 21st in person or virtually.   • Rooted Together Nashville Food Access Project This webinar will look at the relationship between food insecurity and health and wellbeing, and how a community-wide effort can benefit both urban and rural communities.   • The International Rural Nursing Conference is July 26th - July 28th at the Carnegie Hotel, Johnson City, TN. The conference is focused on bringing together rural and remote nurses, other healthcare professionals, educators, and researchers to address the unique and varied health aspects of rural and remote communities focusing on culture, global health, policy, and interdisciplinary professional issues.   • June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month and is an opportunity to increase awareness of the Alzheimer's Association, highlight the impact of Alzheimer's disease in communities nationwide and call upon people to join the Association's efforts to combat the diseases.   • The TN AHEC Scholars Program is accepting applications! The program seeks to prepare tomorrow’s health professionals to become leaders in transformative practice settings and to serve areas with the greatest needs. The deadline for the 2023-2025 cohort is August 1. For more information click here.







  • Results of Rural Healthy People Study Now Available As part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Healthy People initiative, the findings from the companion study, Rural Healthy People, are available. The findings shed light on which health priorities rural stakeholders deem the most important for rural America over the next decade. Read more here.


  • TeenMH.org is a free online resource from NAMI Tennessee designed to help teens navigate and protect their mental health. The website offers information and resources to combat stigma and encourage teen mental health awareness and empowerment.
