COVID-19 Updates from TN Dept. of Health

Rural Health Association of Tennessee is hosting a webinar with the Tennessee Department of Health to provide an update on the Covid-19 pandemic.

Participants will hear from Dr. Mary-Margaret A. Fill and Jane Yackley, who both serve as epidemiologists with the Tennessee Department of health.

Scholarships for East TN

Thanks to a project funded by Health and Human Services Administration (HRSA), we are waiving the $175 conference registration fee for 11 individuals to attend the annual conference who meet the below criteria:

Live in a rural Appalachia community as defined by HRSA.
Serve on a local prevention coalition.
Agree to attend a peer meeting at RHA of TN's Annual Conference

Back to School COVID-19 Social Media Toolkit - The Department of Health and Human Services has developed this graphics and messaging to support prevention efforts in schools. For Tennessee specific information on what to do when COVID-19 has been identified in a school, click here.

Mental Health America Back to School Toolkit - A lot of kids and teens haven't been able to feel safe or stable over the last year because of the trauma caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the ways it has disrupted "normal life." This toolkit "Facing Fears, Supporting Students" is for parents, caregivers, and school personnel with strategies to support mental health. Click here.

We Can Do This: COVID-19 Public Education Campaign. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services announced a national effort to help community partners promote COVID-19 vaccine confidence. The campaign includes educational materials targeted to specific audiences, including rural communities, and seeks volunteers for the COVID-19 Community Corps. Rural Health Clinic Vaccine Distribution (RHCVD) Program. Under the program, Medicare-certified RHCs will receive direct COVID-19 vaccines in addition to their normal jurisdictions’ weekly allocation. Contact RHCVaxDistribution@hrsa.gov for more information.
