Dear Colleagues,
The Rutgers Center for Corporate Law and Governance is pleased to share recent news about its Blockchain and Fintech Program.
In 2022, the Program organized and hosted two major symposia, featuring CFTC Chairman Rostin Behnam and CFTC former Chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo, who participated in fireside chats and delivered keynote speeches. In addition, Professor Yuliya Guseva, the Head of the Program, presented her research on the SEC, the CFTC, the crypto industry, and financial regulation.
Several distinguished academics also discussed their work at the Symposia. The panelists were Kristin Johnson of Emory University School of Law (currently, CFTC Commissioner); Todd Henderson of the University of Chicago Law School; Steven L. Schwarcz of Duke University School of Law; and J.W. Verrett of the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University. It was a privilege to partner with Lowenstein Sandler LLP and the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance in hosting the October Symposium.
In 2021-2022, Yuliya Guseva joined Carol Goforth in working on the second edition of a casebook book on cryptoassets and financial regulation: Carol Goforth & Yuliya Guseva, Regulation of Cryptoassets (West Academic 2022).

Generously supported by the University Blockchain Research Initiative, the Program will continue to conduct multidisciplinary blockchain and fintech research, as well as curriculum- and project-based activities.
