The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 888, has ratified a four-year collective negotiations agreement with the University. The agreement provides, in total, 3% wage increases in each of the first three years of the contract and 2.5% in the final year. Checks for retroactive pay back to July 1, 2018 as well as current wage increases will be reflected in the next paycheck for AFSCME employees. The next 3% increase will be included in paychecks beginning in July of this year. Other employee unions that have ratified new contracts with the university include: -The Fraternal Order of Police Local 164 -International Union of Operating Engineers Local 68 -Teamsters Local 97 -AFSCME 1761 -Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 153 Negotiations with other bargaining units continue. For example, 35 negotiating sessions have been conducted with the AFT-AAUP and a robust and active schedule of negotiating sessions has been set for the coming weeks. |
