This update supports patients whose Medicaid pharmacy benefits no longer provide coverage for certain Bausch products such as Jublia, Trulance, Wellbutrin XL, Xifaxan (see application for full product list) providing a pathway to continued access at no cost. All other patients should continue to enroll using the standard Bausch PAP application, also available in TPC

Fall into Action: Breast Cancer Awareness and the

Importance of Early Screening

This month helps raise awareness about breast cancer, promote early detection through screenings and treatment options. Free Breast and Cervical Screenings are available to uninsured Virginia residents between the age 18-64 who meet federal income guidelines through the Every Woman’s Life (EWL) program. Find a screening program in your area here.

No one should have to go without the medications they need, especially those who are uninsured or underinsured. Did you know that Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) provide many breast cancer medications at no cost to eligible patients?

Explore the available options in TPC, and be sure to check the Medication Web App for product availability within TPC.

VHCF in Action at the National Association of
Free & Charitable Clinics Symposium!

VHCF’s Medication Assistance Team, Lisa & Liana exhibited last month at the 2025 National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) Charitable Healthcare Symposium. We made incredible connections, caught up with clinics from Virginia and across the country that use TPC and showcased how the software can help streamline medication access for clinics to obtain free and low-cost medications and supplies for their patients. Have you heard from a clinic that could benefit from a software tool to manage their medication assistance efforts? Send them our way to learn more!

  • The annual cap for out-of-pocket costs for covered medication is $2,100.

Stay Covered: Virginia Marketplace Changes

Due to federal changes, monthly premiums for 2026 health insurance plans on Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace may increase. While some federal savings are ending, most people will still get help paying for their health insurance. To ensure the best value, returning consumers should be sure to shop during Open Enrollment to review available options for their health needs and budget. Open Enrollment begins November 1, 2025, and will end on January 31, 2026.

Additionally, new federal changes will impact who can access financial help and coverage through Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace based on their immigration status. DACA recipients are no longer eligible for Marketplace coverage. Legally present immigrants who are not eligible for Medicaid due to their immigration status (e.g., green card holders who have not met the 5-year bar) whose household incomes are below 100% of the federal poverty level will no longer qualify for financial help through the Marketplace starting January 1, 2026. Immigrants with a higher income (above 100% of the federal poverty level) may still be eligible for financial help at the Marketplace.

The Virginia Poverty Law Center has published resources for immigrant families who may have questions about applying for Medicaid/FAMIS coverage, their data privacy, and potential impacts. See this overview page and this FAQ (both also available in Spanish) for more information.

Patients can contact EnrollVA navigators and assisters for free, unbiased assistance with health insurance options available through Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace or call the Marketplace Call Center at 888-687-1501.
