Tomorrow is the fun-filled holiday, Halloween, and also the last day of October. As we enter November, we want to take today to celebrate and cherish the sweet gifts this fall has brought. 
 
Throughout the month of October, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month and National Employee Disability Awareness Month. The month of November will be filled with various stories and features on Indigenous peoples and cultures. The sweetness that comes from listening to one another and sharing stories is a gift we continue to cherish. Through listening and empathizing with others, we can begin to recognize the growth and changes we can make as a community. 
 
To those celebrating Halloween tomorrow with their families, children, and friends, may you reflect on the true sweetness that is community. Of course, getting candy and treats is a bonus. However, spending time with those closest to you and celebrating – regardless of the event or reason – is a treat. 
 
Enjoy your weekend and cherish the sweet moments with those you love. We are excited for all the treats that are to come and the sweet stories yet to be shared.

Join GlobalMindED, Georgia Institute of Technology, Killer Mike, Business and Tech leaders in Atlanta Friday

Join us for an all-star line-up of talent at the GlobalMindED/Georgia Tech Office of Minority Education (OMED) Resolve to Solve Series with leaders from business, higher education and media as we connect and collaborate with students to create their success now and in the future. The rap sensation, Killer Mike will have a 1:1 conversation followed by a networking career reception with companies for students to explore careers, bring their resumes and prospect for internships.

Attendees include students, educators, business leaders, policy makers, and foundations/funders.
  • Speakers include college presidents Dr. Glenda Glover (Tennessee State), Dr. David Thomas (Morehouse), Dr. Brian Blake (GA State), business and tech leaders, and global hip-hop sensation, Michael Render (aka Killer Mike), who will share his personal vision of Love & Respect, which is also the title of his new PBS talk show.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and reception are included in the $295 registration fee. Students attend for $195.

Student Delegates will go to Industry Marketplace Reception to meet prospective employers and explore careers after Killer Mike's Closing Session!
