The Future of Work is Diverse, Inclusive, Just and Equitable

GlobalMindED closes the equity gap by creating a capable, diverse talent pipeline through connections to role models, mentors, internships for low-income students, returning adults, First Gen to college and inclusive leaders who teach them, work with them and hire them.
Rx for Resilience: Freedom

Tomorrow we celebrate July 4th, a holiday symbolizing freedom, the American spirit and our path to independence. Over the past year in the United States, we have faced numerous challenges that have made us look at what being an American means, the roles and actions we each take in contributing to our society, our democracy, and our country. We have worked through challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic beyond the devastating disease including unequal access to healthcare/technology/
internet, witnessed how divisive politics can tear us apart, experienced effects of global warming, and been forced to address the racism, sexism, and xenophobia present throughout our communities. We have also seen how we come together in crises, assisting our neighbors, communities, and those around the world in need.

To those who may be feeling frustrated, sad, or angry about the state of our nation, we challenge you to transform your feelings into actions to improve current systems, to talk to others, working together for solutions. If you are uncomfortable or not proud to celebrate, lean into your discomfort and use it to ignite change. Reflect on the freedom given to us to respect opposing views. Register to vote so your voice can be heard and represented this coming November. Help others register to vote. Become involved in meaningful ways. Talk to your neighbors and community. Join a service organization, donate time and help others. Helping others uplifts both the person who gives and the one who receives.

The students and young professionals who attended and spoke at the GlobalMindED Conference are wonderful models of using discomfort and frustration to spark change. They are the light for a hope-filled future, and they are actively pursuing advocating for change; making our country inclusive, caring, accountable to all.

As you reflect on the essence of tomorrow's holiday, consider these questions. What does YOUR "American dream" look like? What changes would you like to see that will make you proud to be a person living in the United States? What actions can you take to create and participate in a just society? How can you help?

Join us in standing for increased equity and diversity. We wish you all a safe and restful holiday weekend.
