Ubuntu is a philosophy that emphasizes the interconnectedness of all people. It is often summarized by the phrase "I am because we are." This means that our sense of self and our humanity are shaped by our relationships with others.

"Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu."

This Xhosa proverb encapsulates the Ubuntu philosophy: "A person is a person through other people." It speaks to our interconnectedness, the idea that our humanity is bound up in the well-being of others.
