Evenings With His Holiness Badrinarayan Swami

His Holiness Badrinarayan Swami
has been a member of ISKCON since 1970. He began associating with members of the Hare Krishna movement while attending high school in Laguna Beach (California). He joined the Laguna temple at the age of 18, after giving his reluctant parents the following choice: either you let me join or I'll run away to India and join there. A year later, Badrinarayan Dasa took initiation from Srila Prabhupada in Los Angeles. Badrinarayan Dasa was the temple president in Ann Arbor, Michigan from 1973 to 1977. He was the temple president in San Diego from 1978 to 1995.

His Holiness Radhanath Maharaja
was born in Chicago, USA. In his teenage years, he embarked on a journey of discovery of the world and religion that ultimately led him to India where he met Srila Prabhupada in 1971 and embraced his teachings. Initially serving in India, Radhanath Swami returned to the USA where he served at a West Virginia farming community and was initiated by Srila Prabhupada (1973).

His Holiness Romapada Swami
heard Srila Prabhupada speak in 1969 at the State University of New York and a year later moved into the Boston Temple. Srila Prabhupada initiated him in 1971. The swami took up the renounced order of sannyasa in 1983 and became an ISKCON initiating guru in 1985 and a member of ISKCON's Governing Body Commission (GBC) in 1992.

 June Ekadasi Schedule Ekadasi has been set aside for us to observe a fast to please Krishna and is a special day for devotees. Srila Prabhupada asked us to fast on Ekadasi by avoiding eating grains and beans, anything made from them or anything that has them in it. This means avoiding bread, pasta, lentils, rice, as well as beans and preparations made from bean flour.
