T he 24th SABPA Entrepreneur Symposium 
The 24th SABPA Entrepreneur Symposium was held at Procopio office on July 25, 2019. 

Ms. Mindy Morton, Partner at Procopio, presented on "Trade Secrets in the Life Sciences: How to Protect and Enforce Them." Ms. Morton explained the importance of safe guarding trade secrets for any business, especially in light of recent legal statue changes and increasing importance in fundraising landscape. 

In order for something to qualify to be a trade secret, it must derive independent economic value from not being generally known to the public, and that it is protected by reasonable measures. 

Ms. Morton highlighted the importance of being diligent in managing trade secrets in all aspects of business environments. The symposium was attended by 60 entrepreneurs and SABPA members and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the audience.

About SABPA
Sino-American Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SABPA) is an 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in early 2002 by professionals and scholars from the Chinese community in San Diego. In 2005, we expanded to Orange County and Los Angeles. We invite all scholars, professionals and entrepreneurs of any origin who are working in, engaged in, or interested in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry in Southern California to join us as a member of SABPA.
