Dear SACC Texas Members and Friends,
As summer approaches, we reflect on an eventful winter and spring filled with vibrant networking and community events. Texas continues to grow—and so does SACC Texas. We are expanding our reach and building stronger ties with Sweden, positioning Texas as the premier destination for Swedish business in the United States.
We are thrilled with the exciting news that Sweden is opening a Consulate General in Houston, an achievement made possible through the hard work and dedication of our former Honorary Consul Astrid Marklund and current Honorary Consul Annika Bergman. The new Consulate will not only offer increased support for Swedes in Texas but also raise the visibility of Houston and Texas within Sweden.
This Thursday marks the next Nordic Business Mingle in Houston, part of our new recurring series that will continue throughout the fall and into 2026. Be sure to check our event page for updates, since this is a great way to mingle with fellow Nordics, network and find new opportunities.
Also, don’t forget to register for the Nordic Golf Tournament on September 22, a long-standing tradition that brings together professionals from across the Nordic community for a day of golf and great networking. We’re pleased to announce that Christian Larsen, Country Manager at PostNord and new SACC Houston board member, will be leading this year’s tournament. A passionate golfer, Christian is taking over the reins from Jonas Dahlström, whom we thank sincerely for many successful years of organizing this event.
Other Key Updates:
- A heartfelt thank you to our fantastic interns in Austin, Meg Holmin and Julia Vadström, as well as to Henry Cronholm and Ian Savarick based in Malmö, Sweden. Your hard work and dedication have been invaluable.
- Don’t miss our June 6th celebration, led by Honorary Consul Annika Bergman—it promises to be a wonderful day.
- Save the date: the Houston Christmas Party is set for December 5th at The Houston Saengerbund. This festive gathering will feature a full traditional Swedish Christmas buffet catered by Copenhagen Restaurant, and it’s free for all SACC Texas members thanks to the generosity of Göran Haag.
Wishing you a productive and relaxing summer to recharge for an exciting fall ahead.
Warm regards,
André Persson
Chairman of the Board and President, SACC Houston
