Welcome "soon to be" 6th grade Thunderbirds

& their families.

We are excited that your child will soon be joining us at Sacajawea Middle School!!  This marks the beginning of an exciting and important two years for both of you.

Parents: you are invited to attend :

Future Thunderbird Night and Curriculum Fair

Feb. 21

@ 5:00 - 8:00 pm

We will be offering large group presentations for each grade level at staggered times as well as small group breakout sessions offered multiple times throughout the night to help with parking and congestion.

More specific details will be sent out soon.

In the next few weeks (Feb. 26-29) we begin registration at the elementary schools as the first step in our process to move them up!! Students will receive a copy of the registration form during our visit. We are asking that students take the form home and discuss their selections with parents. We will return the next day to pick up the form.

In June we will invite our future Thunderbirds to come to Sacajawea for an official school visit. We will work with our elementary school partners on the arrangements for this event.

Based on your child's home address in PowerSchool, you live in the Sacajawea attendance area. If your current home address in PowerSchool is out of date, please contact your current elementary school to update the information. If you are considering a choice transfer to another Spokane Public Schools middle school, we recommend you complete the application ASAP. Choice Enrollment closes Feb. 15th The application portal is open at: https://enroll.spokaneschools.org/enrollment

Starting this month, you will begin receiving our SAC News You Can Use email newsletter so you can start getting connected with the great opportunities and activities we offer at Sacajawea. If you would like to add an additional email address or update the one that this email was sent to, please contact your current elementary school.

Our staff is committed to your child's success and sincerely looks forward to welcoming you and your child to the Sacajawea Family! If you have any questions regarding class selection and the transition process please feel free to contact us.

Community Partners
About our Community Partner's Program..... We would appreciate you partnering with us in supporting the PBIS program at Sacajawea.

There are 2 ways to participate and help the Sacajawea community.
  1. We ask that businesses pick one month of the school year to sponsor our PBIS program, with a suggested donation of $75.  When your business sponsors a month of PBIS, it will be recognized in Sacajawea “News You Can Use” email with a link to your businesses’ website. This email gives your business exposure to the families of the 800+ students enrolled at Sacajawea. We will also advertise your business for the entire month on our brand new Sacajawea Middle School electronic reader board, located on Grand Blvd. at 32nd Ave.
  2. Other businesses provide us with rewards and tangible goods for students and staff.

If you are a business owner and would like to partner with us by contributing to our Sacajawea family with donations of time or resources please email [email protected]
