Summer Planning Starts Now

The summer months are some of the best times to work with your students leaders to plan for the year ahead. The summer is also one of the most dangerous times for youth. Late night parties, driving in the dark or in cars with too many youth, and exposure to illegal substances are more prevalent.

Consider meeting with your student leaders once or twice over the summer to stay up to date on what is happening and to develop a Program of Work with your students. A Program of Work, or POW, maps out the who, what, when, where, and why of your plan for the upcoming school year. Missouri SADD will be releasing a guide to building a POW over the coming weeks for your use this summer.

The rising popularity of online marketing of e-cigarettes warrants greater surveillance and regulation of online advertising practices to ensure that youth are not being exposed to ads for nicotine-containing products.
