National PAL Conference
May 4 -10, 2026 - SAFE Family Justice Centers was proud to be represented at the Annual National PAL Conference in Washington, D.C. by PAL mentors Marshall Hamilton, Aiko Nicole Holdaway, Aylin Nunez, Belicia Parker, and Murrieta Police Department Officer Carla Sanchez.
Throughout the week, attendees participated in training sessions focused on the PAL grant, new program opportunities, and strategies for strengthening PAL chapters across the country. The conference also provided valuable opportunities to build relationships and exchange ideas with PAL mentors from communities nationwide.
The knowledge, connections, and inspiration gained at the conference will help SAFE FJC continue expanding opportunities for youth throughout Riverside County. We are also excited to share that Riverside County PAL will return to Washington, D.C. this July to participate in the National PAL Youth Summit.

Supporting Youth Mental Wellness
May 4, 2026 - SAFE FJC's Indio Youth Specialist participated in the Annual Mental Health Wellness Fair hosted by Summit High School and Horizon School. Alongside other community organizations, SAFE connected with students, shared valuable resources, promoted mental wellness, and encouraged healthy conversations about emotional well-being. The event provided a fun and engaging opportunity to support local youth while helping students learn about the services and resources available within their community. We are grateful to Summit High School and Horizon School for hosting such a meaningful event and for their commitment to supporting the mental health and wellness of young people.

State of Community Health
May 7, 2026 - SAFE Family Justice Centers was honored to attend the State of Community Health event, where community leaders, healthcare professionals, and advocates came together to discuss ways to improve the health and well-being of Riverside County residents. The event featured an engaging conversation led by the CEO of Neighborhood Healthcare, highlighting current community health challenges, opportunities for collaboration, and strategies for creating healthier, stronger communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in these important discussions and strengthen partnerships that support the individuals and families we serve.

Riverside Womens Club Support
May 13, 2026 - Director of Development Molly Soliman and Supervising Family Specialist Diana Portillo recently had the opportunity to attend a meeting of the Riverside Woman's Club to share more about SAFE Family Justice Centers, our mission, and the services we provide to survivors and families throughout Riverside County.
In addition to learning about SAFE's work, members of the Riverside Woman's Club generously donated "Welcome Home" baskets filled with essential household items to help families as they transition into safe new homes and begin rebuilding their lives. These thoughtful donations provide comfort, dignity, and practical support during a critical time of healing and new beginnings.
We are deeply grateful to the Riverside Woman's Club for their kindness, compassion, and commitment to supporting survivors. Community partnerships like these help ensure that families have the resources and encouragement they need as they move forward on their journey toward safety and hope.

Camp HOPE
Pre-Camp Fun!
May 16, 2026 - As Camp HOPE approaches, SAFE Family Justice Centers hosted a special pre-camp event at Mulligan Family Fun Center in Murrieta, giving campers and their families an opportunity to connect before the start of camp. The event served as a chance for families to complete registration, meet camp staff and fellow campers, and begin building the relationships that make Camp HOPE such a meaningful experience.
Families enjoyed a pizza lunch together before spending the afternoon exploring the arcade and attractions. For many, it was an opportunity to create new memories and enjoy quality time together.

SAFE FJC Hosts 100 Teens Who Care
May 17, 2026 - SAFE Family Justice Centers was proud to host a recent meeting of 100 Teens Who Care Temecula Valley at our Temecula Center. The event brought together local youth who are passionate about making a difference in their community through collective giving and service. Attendees heard from Temecula Mayor Jessica Alexander and learned about the missions of three local nonprofits: Choose to Be Restored, Treasure Box Angels, and Rolling for a Cause. Through their generosity, the teens raised $1,430 in just one hour to support these organizations. We are honored to support opportunities that encourage youth leadership, community engagement, and philanthropy, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact these young changemakers continue to make.

PicklePALooza Serves Up Fun and Support for PAL
May 17, 2026 - SAFE Family Justice Centers was thrilled to host our inaugural PicklePALooza, bringing together community members for a day of fun, friendly competition, and support for our PAL program. The event was filled with energy, laughter, and connection as players, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters came together to make a difference for local youth.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, the Bear Creek Pickleball Club for generously hosting the tournament, and Andy and Tiffany Scarborough for their outstanding leadership and dedication behind the scenes. Their efforts helped make the event a tremendous success. We are grateful to everyone who participated and are already looking forward to making PicklePALooza an annual tradition that continues to support and strengthen the lives of youth throughout our community.

Eagle Scout Project to Benefit SAFE
May 20, 2026 - SAFE Family Justice Centers is honored to have been selected as the beneficiary of an upcoming Eagle Scout project by Jacob Kaloustian of Boy Scout Troop 384 in Temecula. Jacob recently attended our Denim Day event to learn more about SAFE's mission and explore ways he could make a meaningful impact for the children and families we serve.
After meeting with our team and presenting his project proposal, we were inspired by his dedication to serving the community and supporting survivors. We are excited to partner with Jacob on this important milestone and look forward to seeing his project come to life. We are grateful for his commitment to making a difference and can't wait to share updates as his Eagle Scout journey progresses.

PAL Graduation
May 27, 2026 - Our Teen PAL recently celebrated the beginning of summer and recognized nine graduating seniors for their leadership, dedication, and contributions to the program. These remarkable young people have helped create the welcoming, supportive, and fun environment that makes Teen PAL such a special place for youth to connect, grow, and lead.
The celebration was made even more meaningful with the support of PAL officers from the Murrieta and Menifee Police Departments, who joined in the festivities and treated attendees to pizza and desserts. We are incredibly proud of our graduating seniors and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the next chapter of their journeys.
