February was Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
February was Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of unhealthy and abusive relationships among young people. At SAFE Family Justice Centers, we are committed to empowering teens with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to build healthy relationships and recognize the warning signs of dating violence. Throughout the month, SAFE staff proudly wore orange, the national color of Teen Dating Violence Awareness, to stand in solidarity with young people and help spark conversations about healthy relationships. Through education, prevention programs, and partnerships with schools and community organizations across Riverside County, SAFE works to ensure that teens understand their worth, know how to seek help, and feel supported if they are experiencing abuse. By raising awareness and starting these important conversations, we can help create a safer future where every young person feels respected, valued, and safe in their relationships.

Retreat
2/10/26 - SAFE partnered with Hoofbeats for Hope to host a retreat for participants in our Restoring Strength program, SAFE’s aftercare program for women. During the retreat, participants took part in equestrian activities that encouraged trust, communication, and confidence while working with horses. The experience provided an opportunity for women to explore personal strength and the feeling of being in control in a supportive environment. It was a meaningful reminder that the confidence they build in the arena can carry into other areas of their lives and healing journey.

Self Love Flower Workshop
2/11/26 - SAFE clients recently gathered for a flower workshop focused on self love and healing. During the workshop, each participant created a personal bouquet as a symbol of their strength, growth, and hope for the future. The evening provided a meaningful space for connection, reflection, and encouragement as survivors supported one another on their healing journeys. It was a beau tiful reminder that every person deserves relationships rooted in respect, care, and kindness, because love should never hurt.

PALentine
SAFE Family Justice Centers recently hosted PALentine’s events in both Temecula and Indio, creating welcoming and family friendly spaces for children and families to come together and celebrate connection and community. Youth participants enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts activities that encouraged creativity, self expression, and teamwork while providing a fun and positive environment to spend time with peers. The events were filled with laughter, creativity, and meaningful moments, helping strengthen connections among the youth and families we serve while continuing to build a supportive and engaged community.

This inspiring group of young leaders is learning the power of philanthropy, collective decision making, and giving back to their community. Rib Off
2/17/26 - SAFE Family Justice Centers was honored to be selected by the Riverside Police Department as the beneficiary of the 2nd Annual Andy Armadillo Birthday Rib Off held at Texas Roadhouse in Corona. The event brought together community members, law enforcement, and supporters for an afternoon of great food and friendly competition between Riverside Police Department and California Highway Patrol. While CHP took home the win, the funds raised were generously shared between both organizations, helping support critical services for survivors of violence in Riverside County. We are grateful to everyone who helped make the event such a success.

Murrieta City Council
2/17/26 - Director of Development Molly Soliman spoke at the February Murrieta City Council meeting to share about the resources and services SAFE Family Justice Centers provides to survivors in our community. We are grateful for the continued support of the City of Murrieta and appreciate the opportunity to connect with city leaders and community members to raise awareness about the work SAFE is doing to support survivors and their families.

Rising Above joins Young PAL
2/18/26 - Kindness took center stage when Rising Above, a service club from Temecula Valley High School, partnered with our Young PAL mentees for a meaningful day of connection and service. Rising Above’s mission is to provide support for children impacted by substance abuse, domestic violence, and child abuse or neglect, and we are grateful for these dedicated teens who are already making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Impact Video Filming
2/20/26 - Each year at the SAFE Futures Celebration, SAFE shares an Impact Video featuring survivors who feel empowered to share their stories and reflect on how SAFE has supported them on their journey. We were honored this year to have siblings Alexis and Jayden, along with an incredible woman named Chalise, bravely share their experiences. Their powerful stories will be shown in this year’s Impact Video, which will show at the SAFE Futures Celebration on March 14.

Camp HOPE America Mini Conference
2/25-27/26 - SAFE team members recently attended the 2026 Camp HOPE America Mini Conference at YMCA Camp Weaver in Greensboro, North Carolina. The conference brought together leaders from across the country who are working to support children impacted by trauma and violence through the Camp HOPE model. Our team had the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and share ideas with other organizations committed to building hope and resilience in young people. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue strengthening the programs we offer and bringing new ideas back to better serve the children and families in our community.

2/20/26 - SAFE had the opportunity to speak at the February meeting of the Temecula Valley Women’s Club to announce that the club will be honored with the 2026 Dan Atwood Legacy Award. This recognition celebrates the club’s more than 27 years of dedicated support and partnership with SAFE, helping ensure survivors in our community have access to critical services and support. We are deeply grateful for their longstanding commitment to our mission.
