Love Shouldn't Hurt
June 8, 2026 - SAFE Family Justice Centers welcomed more than 70 community members to Monteleone Meadows for Love Shouldn't Hurt, an evening dedicated to raising awareness about teen dating violence and honoring the memory of Cadence Eileen. Through powerful personal stories, meaningful conversations, and a shared commitment to protecting our youth, attendees were reminded that healthy relationships are built on respect, trust, and kindness. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped create a space where young people know they are seen, supported, and never alone. A special thank you to Cadence's family for their incredible courage in sharing her story and transforming unimaginable loss into awareness, education, and hope for others. Together, we can empower young people to recognize the warning signs of unhealthy relationships and ensure they know where to turn for help.

California Family Justice Center Network Conference
June 9 to 10, 2026 - We were honored to participate in the inaugural California Family Justice Center Network Conference in Sacramento, joining leaders and advocates from across the state dedicated to supporting survivors of violence and abuse. As part of the conference, our team spent a day at the State Capitol meeting with Assemblymember Jeff Gonzalez, Assemblymember Leticia Castillo, and representatives from Senator Seyarto's office to advocate for the preservation of Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding and highlight the essential role Family Justice Centers play in communities throughout California. As victim service organizations continue to face significant funding challenges, these conversations are more important than ever. We are grateful for the opportunity to elevate the voices of survivors and advocate for the resources needed to ensure children, families, and individuals experiencing violence continue to receive the lifesaving support they deserve.

Camp HOPE Riverside County
June 15 to 20, 2026 - SAFE Family Justice Centers was proud to send 44 youth from across Riverside County to Camp HOPE, where they experienced a week filled with hope, healing, adventure, and connection. Designed for children impacted by trauma, Camp HOPE provides a safe environment where youth build confidence, develop resilience, form lasting friendships, and discover that their past does not define their future. Through outdoor adventures, team building activities, and positive mentorship, campers returned home with renewed confidence, new friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. We are deeply grateful to our generous donors, dedicated volunteers, and community partners whose support made this life changing experience possible for every child who attended.

Camp Highlander Pre Registration
June 23, 2026 - A total of 29 children registered for Camp Highlander with the support of Family Specialists Amarie and Diana, who assisted families throughout the registration process by answering questions and ensuring all required paperwork was completed. The event also gave children the chance to interact with Dinah, helping create a welcoming, positive atmosphere and building excitement for their upcoming Camp Highlander experience.

Youth Court Summit
June 23 to 25, 2026 - Riverside County PAL proudly took 20 teens to the 21st Annual Youth Court Summit at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Throughout the week, participants engaged in educational workshops, inspiring speakers, and interactive discussions focused on restorative justice, leadership, and positive youth development. The experience provided valuable opportunities for teens to strengthen their leadership skills, connect with peers from across the state, and deepen their understanding of the justice system. To celebrate a week of learning and growth, the group also enjoyed an evening at the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk before returning home with new friendships, lasting memories, and valuable experiences.

Elder & Dependent Adult Abuse Symposium
June 25, 2026 - We were honored to attend this year's symposium and learn from outstanding presenters who shared valuable insights and practical strategies for preventing and responding to elder and dependent adult abuse. We also appreciated the opportunity to connect with professionals from government agencies, community organizations, law enforcement, healthcare, financial institutions, and other partners who share a commitment to protecting vulnerable adults. We left inspired by the collaboration taking place throughout our region and equipped with new knowledge, fresh perspectives, and practical tools to better serve our community.
