SAFE OPERATION OF FORKLIFTS

In our industry there are thousands of forklifts in use everyday. However we encounter situations where these forklifts are not being used correctly.

Forklifts are engineered and designed for lifting purposes and not for towing equipment or pushing snow. Forklift tines if drilled are not safe for lifting and should be removed from service.

MSA offers FREE online theory based training for safe operations of power mobile equipment (PME). Click here to learn more: Introduction to PME Registration

For tracking your staff’s training and competency of PME, please download this checklist: PME Operator Competency Checklist

MSA also offers FREE downloadable Safe work practices for forklifts:

Safe Work Practices for Forklifts

For more information please refer to the attached provincial guidelines for safe operation of forklifts. Provincial Guidelines for Safe Operation of Forklifts
