Spring is always a busy time for SAFEchild, but this year the calendar is particularly chock-full of activities! Read on for some exciting developments.

Champion Our Children - Going for Gold!

Since our last update to you in late March, our new 20,000-square-foot "house" is starting to look and feel like a home! Before long, we will be opening the doors to share this new home with our community's children and parents.

Children need you to be their Champion to do whatever it takes to ensure their safety and promise nurturing futures.

Please join our Going for Gold initiative to raise the final $2 million toward our $11 million Champion Our Children goal.

SAFEchild Blue Ribbon Gala

SAFEchild's 2023 Blue Ribbon Gala was a spectacular celebration of 31 years of community partnership and collaboration on behalf of Wake County's children and families.

Nearly 400 guests wearing blue to show support for Child Abuse Prevention Month donated over $450,000, exceeding our goal and launching SAFEchild toward program expansion to ensure safe, nurturing childhoods and stable, resilient families!

Keynote speaker Erin Merryn (bottom left above), a child sexual abuse survivor turned author, speaker, child advocate/activist and founder of Erin's Law, which mandates child abuse prevention education in public schools and has been enacted in 38 states.

The many in-kind donors whose contributions enabled us to create enticing auction packages, including: Heather Ashe, incoming SAFEchild board president; Drs.
