Greetings from the SAGA School!

We hope that our extended SAGA community has been enjoying Spring, undertaking adventures and experiencing good health. At SAGA, we are in the final stretch of our school year looking forward to the summer time!

The SAGA School Office has been in preparation mode for the 2022-23 school year. We anticipate hiring new team members in order to meet the demands of our programs, starting up our volunteer committees again and strengthening our strategic planning efforts to lay a strong foundation for growth in the next three to five years.

We continue to be humbled and appreciative of the support from our extended community. Thank you for your continued interest, monetary and material donations, and referring SAGA to friends and work colleagues! Together we are stronger.

10 Year SAGA Anniversary:
Dorit Goodwin

We are pleased and excited to announce the 10 year anniversary of staff member Dorit Goodwin! Many of your children have benefitted from her guidance and care when they attended SAGA's preschool, preK, Kindergarten, Academic Afterschool or summer camp programs.

Dorit has an amazing ability to connect with her students and parents with a warmth that is one of a kind. She is passionate about music, movement, dancing and licorice. She finds joy in watching her students grow and learn new things. SAGA is so lucky to continue to have her as part of the SAGA team and benefit from her experience, energy and expertise.

Youth Exchange Program Seeks Families

Would you like to host a German exchange student? The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals is funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by Cultural Vistas. CBYX is a reciprocal fellowship that gives 75 German young professionals the opportunity to live with an American host, study at a local college, and complete a six-month paid internship in their career fields. SAGA Parent-Child Kinderstunde Program - Sign Ups Open!

There are a few spots left in SAGA's Parent-Child Kinderstunde program. Experience German music, finger play, stories and movement with your child. Children ages 10 to 29 months are welcome. Learn more and sign up here!
In March, SAGA Staff partnered with Kong Academy for a team building professional development day at the school. Staff had an opportunity to work together and laugh a lot through the team oriented activities.
SAGA Job Openings

The SAGA School is looking to fill a couple of staffing positions.

Current openings include
  • Preschool Teacher Assistant - 2022/23 School Year (German Speaker)
  • Elementary Head Teacher - 2022/23 School Year
  • Extended Care Staff - 2022/23 School Year (German preferred, but not required.)
  • Substitute Staff

SAGA Family Seeking German-Speaking Childcare Provider:

A SAGA family with two children, elementary and pre-k aged, is looking for a childcare provider on Thursday and Friday afternoons, from school pickup time until 6pm on both days. While the family is looking for a regular caretaker for those specific two days, they would also be interested in a German-speaking caretaker more generally, to cover the occasional afternoon or evening time, simply for the extra German exposure. If you are looking for extra work hours but can't do the Th/Fri times, the family would still love to chat with you.
