March roars into Sage Day Middle School with the 8th grade transition program with students from the Sage Day High Schools in Rochelle Park and Boonton engaging in team building activities and conversations that help get our students ready for the transition to high school. The Arts Festival highlighting music and art presented by students will be held the evening of March 13th. A Tricky Tray Fundraiser and the Book Fair will also be highlights of that evening. Student work from the academic areas will also be on display. The Arts Festival is a unique way of showcasing student talent in the arts.

rochelle park senior t-shirts
One of our seniors took the initiative and placed orders for "Senior Tee-Shirts." The shirts were ordered in our Sage Day forest green color with the student's name on the back with the number '13 indicating the year they are graduating. Students loved their shirts and put them on as soon as they received them.
Rochelle Park is preparing for our Arts Festival on April 26th, all band songs will be finalized during the first week of March. Signups and auditions for all "non-band performances," such as skits and poetry readings are during this month as well. By March 22, all acts are finalized and no changes can be made.
Our yearbook is currently on sale for $65.00. The books are delivered June 2. Progress Reports for the third quarter are being prepared.

On March 8, our 9th graders will be visiting our  Mahwah campus. This is a day of sharing and re-connecting with their friends and teachers. This is also a very nice way for our 8th graders to form a connection when they enter the high school in the Fall. There are activities and ice breakers and the visit ends with a pizza lunch for all. Our 9th graders typically return to Rochelle Park feeling good and energized and our 8th graders return to their classes with an excited sense of anticipation for their transition to the high school.

At Town Meeting on February 6th, seven students were acknowledged for perfect attendance since September and three of our students were acknowledged for having perfect attendance during the month of January.  These students were treated to a pizza lunch on February 12th. Going forward, any student who has perfect attendance in a month, will be rewarded with a pizza lunch.
