Kindergarten -3rd grade students focused our projects for December holidays on traditions and the evergreen tree.   Night Tree  by Eve Bunting was one of the anchor texts for this project. This story is about a family that has a tradition of going into the forest to decorate a tree for the animals for Christmas. Our learners were inspired by the story to start this tradition at SAGES. After reading the story learners strung popcorn, cheerios, and cranberries. Then made suet balls from our homegrown sunflower seeds. All of these items were hung on trees throughout the school forest as an act of kindness for our forest animals. We look forward to our next visit to the forest to see how the animals are enjoying the treats.
