Dear “Saint Nation!”

It is with great excitement and anticipation that we welcome you to the new 2019-2020 school year.

You can expect great things as we start to engage and interact with you knowing that it will be the 130th year built on tradition, excellence and pride. More importantly, having the opportunity to reconnect and continue to foster positive relationships with our new and returning students and families to make the “bright light” in Central Santa Ana, shine even brighter makes it that much more satisfying.

This year like last, we will be starting school one day earlier - Friday, August 9th for all of our new incoming 9th grade “Saints” (Please see attached schedules below). At this time, we will be reviewing norms and positive expectations, formally introducing you to key “Helpers” and personnel, providing tours of areas on campus that are critical to student success, reviewing student schedules for any problems or incorrect information, and allowing ALL FRESHMEN STUDENTS to transition seamlessly prior to the first of day of school, district wide, on Monday, August 12th. Additionally, we want this special day for the Freshmen to be focused on a quality, focused, intentional, and highly nurturing first day and impression of Santa Ana High School.

Again, our Returning 10th, 11th and 12th Grade “Saint’s” first day back from Summer Break will be - Monday, August 12th. These students can arrive early in case they cannot access their schedules online through their AERIES account. Schedules will also continue to be posted in the Small Gym on campus on the first day as we have done in the past years. There will also be plenty of staff on campus to help students and parents experience a positive and welcoming “first-day” of the new 2019-20 school year.

We will all experience another record breaking, exciting and satisfying school year ahead as we all look forward to the multiple “ Examples of Opportunity and Excellence that Exists at Santa Ana High School on a Daily Basis.” My wish for “Saint Nation” this coming year is that each and every day is great, that everyone finds a reason to smile and that each student that occupies a seat at Santa Ana High School is… “ HAPPY!”

Santa Ana High School’s Halos After School Program joins forces with Fox Sports SD to provide SAHS students with a fun-packed visit to the beautiful City of San Diego!

 Halos prides themselves in making sure they provide Saints with experiences beyond the city and all based on student voice. Halos Student Leadership has geared up for summer camp by gathering 65 SAHS students (9th-12th) to carry out a process where Halos Staff and Student Leaders will game plan what the 2019-20 school year will look like and set the tone for another awesome year. Halos are creators of safe spaces and will continue to work hard in service of SAHS students because it’s the Way of the Saints!

The Boys Soccer's Program Varsity, JV and Freshman teams get off to a great start winning their first matches of the summer league tournament at Valley HS. The Boys Varsity team defeated Godinez 3-0 while the Freshman Team started off their high school careers with a 3-0 victory over Crean Lutheran. All three teams are back in action this week with practice Monday and Wednesday 1:30 PM @ SAHS and games Tuesday and Thursday.

We would like to thank our students, families, assistants, and teachers for their participation and commitment to our 2019 Summer Music Camp. Our students have worked diligently and have practiced for many hours. They are very excited to showcase their skills at our Summer Music Camp Concert on July 2, 2019, at 10:00 am in the Big Gym. This concert will demonstrate the progress and skills students have learned during the camp. We invite you to come out and enjoy the wonderful show. Admission is free and all family, friends, and guests are invited to attend.

Girls Empowerment Camp (GEC) is a free two-day camp open to teens ages 14-18 that introduces them to the fire service and provides campers with a realistic, hands-on overview of firefighting. The camp exposes the teens to all aspects of a fire service career beginning with requirements. The program also empowers campers with life skills and professional guidance that encourages them to pursue a career in public safety. The camp is being held at the

Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Training Center .
