NJROTC
19th Straight Year as Distinguished Unit
U.S. Naval Commander, Garcia, Impressed by Santa Ana High School's NJROTC Unit - 19th Straight Year as Distinguished Unit. Commander Tom Osseck, First Sargent, Sandercock and Master Sargent Guardado, certainly had every reason to be PROUD of their " Saint " Cadets today. Participating in the beginning of the year, Pass and Review Inspection. the debrief was outstanding as evidenced by the Naval Commander "Boss, Commander Garcia's statement, "You should be real PROUD of your students!" He went on to explain that he has been at many other schools and Santa Ana High School is, "one of the best!" After 19 years of earning, "Distinguished Unit," " Saint " Leadeship, Commander Osseck, First Sargent Sandercock and Master Sargent, Luis Guardado, are "Second to None! After our debrief meeting today, I anticipate yet another year (20th consecutive), of Santa Ana High School being named as a, "Distinguished Unit." I could NOT be PROUDER of both the " Saint " NJROTC Military Leadership and Student " Saint " Cadets...

Ambassadors of Compassion
Student "Transformational Leadership" Takes Center Stage at Santa Ana High School Through "Ambassadors of Compassion..."
When you take on leadership at a high school, it's not easy if you do it the right way. To be a leader, one must really understand "self" and one's place in space, time and affect on others. Over 650 students participated in team groups, led by student leaders, engaging in deep and supportive conversations and interactions.
"Where there is trauma in one's life, it stores in our own organs and heart." When addressing the issue of trauma, abuse and minimization, forgiveness is critical in continuing to grow into healthy adulthood. You could not... "hear a pin drop!"
Tears, deep conversation, hugging and a healthy self-reflection was alive and well for "Our Kids!" Over 650 students hearing the message of, "instead of being a victim, be a VICTOR!" was specific and explained in an authentic and caring way. The message spoke directly to "Our Kids" heart and soul. While not mentioning any spiritual or religious perspective, the characteristics and rules of a healthy life, what any parent, teacher or administrator would want to "gift" a student, son or daughter. The many characteristics explained today were ever-present in conversation, feeling and focus. "Our Kids" were AMAZING!
Stay Tuned for a Grand Event at Santa Ana High School, where 100% of the proceeds for the scheduled "Red Carpet" Hollywood Movie Premier, will generate monies to be given to CHOC Hospital. When Glee Star, Alexys Alonzo, provided "Our Kids" a riveting and compelling story about the bullying, transitions in her life and heart surgeries she overcame.. She evidenced, courage. struggle and victory in her remarks today.
Today was exception and we will continue to work with "Ambassadors of Compassion" group. This is the work of " Saint Nation " and the " Way of the Saints!" Thank you Heidi Cisneros and 'Ambassadors of Compassion" Leadership who worked closely with Brian Lillie, " Saint" Athletic Director, to provide "Our Kids" valuable guidance and mentorship in becoming leaders within " Saint Nation"
Saints visit Northern California Universities on two-day trip
Santa Ana High School Students Praise Chico State - as Their Favorite University...
As "Our Kids" exited the bus at the SAUSD District Office, their smiles and affect evidenced a fantastic two-day trip to Northern California while visiting several Universities that could be possible destinations upon their graduation this coming May 2020. "Our Kids" from Santa Ana High School , participated in a two-day trip with other students throughout the Santa Ana Unified School District. The students visited San Francisco State, Santa Cruz, Sacramento State and several others to give them ideas about the various programs, highlights and options available to them. Isn't it interesting when the district leadership. including Central Office personnel like Kati Catellanos, a champion and advocate for preparing our students for college and to start helping them plan and decide where they will go and what they have to do to apply so they can continue their academic life.. after High school. It was beautiful to see " Saint Nation " parents waiting for their sons/daughters disembark from the bus as they arrived back home after leaving home for two days. Sincere THANKS to Eddie Rocha for supervising "Our Kids" during this college Tour trip. Each student was 4.GPA and ABOVE! This is the work of the BOE, District Office, School Sites, Students, Parents, Community.

Mock Trial Competition
Taking Note, They Remembered your Name....
" Saint Nation " Mixed it up in J. Serra Catholic High School's. Mock Trial Competition in the Courtroom with some of the BEST South County High School Mock Trial Teams. As I was leaving a restaurant in San Juan Capistrano afterwards, one of the "other" Catholic High Schools, was discussing "Our Kids." Much Respect earned today towards "Our Kids" who competed, learned, found great success, and made Judge Macias, "Our Teachers (Mona and Tom)," and " Saint Nation " PROUD! Congratulations to - MVP's: Jesse Cedeno; Shirley Meunier; and Joseph Acevedo!
AIRR
Way of the Saints
Exceptional! Jason Elmer Infante Galeana 12th, Gerardo Orozco 12th, Carlos Pozos 9th, Nilo Antunez 12th, Markov Zarate 12th. After finding
$201.00 along with a student identification what would you expect them to do? What would YOU do? Understanding how hard it is to pay bill's, pay rent, put food on the table for family nowadays - These " Saints " RETURNED the money after finding the money and identification on the ground during school at Santa Ana High School . Say what you want about, "Our Kids" and "Our Parents," The
Pillars of - Acceptance of ALL, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility (AIRR), that which we refer to as the " Way of the Saints," was alive and well this past week in " Saint Nation !" "Our Kids" continue to "Prove What's Possible!"
