Dear “Saint” Staff,
Welcome back to “Saint Nation!”
a message from Principal Bishop
I’m hoping that you all found the time to relax, re-focus, refresh and ready yourselves for another amazing school year. With the largest freshmen class in
several years and over 3,300 students enrolled, there will be even more opportunities to “Prove what’s Possible,” and a plethora of “Examples of Opportunity and Excellence at Santa Ana High School on a Daily Basis.”
Looking at all the factors involved, there are many reasons to believe that this coming year will be one of the best in our 130-year history. As you may already know, Santa Ana High School is referred to as the “Flagship School” of the Santa Ana Unified School District. Our tradition and pride sets us apart from the rest and assuredly, places the responsibility on all of us to continue to be that hope and “bright shiny light” that radiates for many more years to come.

three areas, he will also be supporting the areas previously assigned to assistant principal Gannon Burks, who recently was hired by Poway Unified School District’s Poway High School. Elizabeth G. Macias Legal Pathway
Superior Court Judge, Elizabeth G. Macias, Continues to Mentor and Shepherd, "Our Kids," as They Pursue a Pathway in the Legal Community.
As participants in the Santa Ana High School, "Elizabeth G. Macias Legal Pathway," students have committed to a week of intense training and activity that included field trips to various courtrooms, legal offices, colleges, and other areas not usually open to the typical student. Creating opportunity and experience that provide the background and front loading that creates students who perform in Mock Trial, competitively. Along with direct coaching and support from Judge Macias aside professional lawyers and practitioners that are presently practicing and successful in the legal community today, the " Saint" participants are gaining invaluable AMAZING and individualized experience. Significant is the fact that "Our Kids" are learning academic language in context and becoming more confident in the usage of words that will be highly important for their participation in Mock Trial Competition this coming year. Cross-examining peers, using inference, counter-punching, using logic, and many other opportunities to use language intentionally - and sounding smart and confident... will be a gift to "Our Kids" forever! Certainly, present in today's courtroom.
