Santa Ana High School WE CARE Training
One the leading causes of death for Young Adults and High School Students. Unfortunately, is Death by Suicide." "Our Kids" need us in a proactive and loving way - NOW!
Santa Ana Unified School District's, "We Care" Campaign, deals directly with this horrible dilemma. The good News, O Suicides in SAUSD during the 2018-2019 School Year. Today's Professional Staff Training dispelled myths, provided new language and terminology. For example, before students "committed suicide." Now, we refer to suicide of a student is, "Death by Suicide." Processes and systems to respond to students who are struggling, were presented discussed and documented by having teachers and administrators "officially" trained - GREAT training to help... "Our Kids." Both presenting counselors, Arlette Riduott and Berenice Gurski, did a FANTASTIC Job!
UDL in Theater Class
Universal Design for Learning in Theater Class at Santa Ana High School. 100% engagement as students identify the parts of an ancient Greek amphitheater three different ways—Using their bodies, markers or legos.
Saints Marching Band train with USC Trojan Marching Band
Members of the Marching Saints were part of the selected few to participate in this years Training for Troy with the USC Trojan Marching Band. Only a handful of programs are invited each year to participate and with this being Dr. Bartners last year as director it is only fitting that my students got to see him in action before he retires.
The morning was filled with great music by the Trojan marching band, clinics with band members, a mass band performance and camps tours. Our kids talked to current USC students and lived a day as a Trojan. So honored to be able to be part of this and for these opportunities provided to my kids.
FIGHT ON!
