SA8000:2026 Timeline

The SA8000:2026 Working Draft is now available on our website. SAI plans to publish the final version of the SA8000:2026 Standard for Decent Work at the end of this year. In the following months, the SA8000 Certification Program will begin to transition to the new Standard.

We recently published details about the expected timeline for this transition and specific deadlines for organizations certified or re-certified in 2022-2026 on our website.

SA8000:2026 Revision Public Feedback Response

In 2023-2024, 850 individuals representing 843 organizations provided feedback to the draft SA8000 Standard. We’re pleased to share a summary report of feedback received during this period and how it was incorporated in the SA8000:2026 Working Draft. We want to thank those who participated for your contributions to shaping the next SA8000 Standard for Decent Work.

A new public comment period will begin soon for translations of the Working Draft into Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. If you are interested in participating in this comment period, please let us know and we will be sure to notify you when the drafts are available for review. The information will also be posted publicly on our website. 

Living Wage Benchmark Workshop in Delhi

Last month, SAI hosted a Living Wage Benchmark Workshop in Delhi, India. This workshop brought stakeholders together to share feedback on the recently published Anker Living Wage Benchmark Report for Delhi-NCR.

Following a keynote address by the Deputy Labour Commissioner (Central), HQ, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, researchers from the Anker Research Institute shared details about the report process and outcomes, and SAI facilitated group feedback discussions about achieving living wages for workers.

SA8000 Training Course Alumni Event in Dhaka

Thank you to the SA8000 training alumni who attended our recent gathering in Dhaka! Hosted by SA8000 trainer Abdul Alim, the event brought together over 100 training participants from brands, audit companies, the garment industry, and more as an opportunity to reconnect and share learnings from their work dedicated to improving the lives of workers.
