Ethical Recruitment Dialogue at RBA's Responsible Business 2025 Event

Migrant workers play a major role in global supply chains across industries, but companies often have little insight into the labor recruiters that facilitate their recruitment, transportation, and employment and there are few established channels to regulate them. Without effective oversight, migrant workers are among the most vulnerable to forced labor and other human rights abuse.

This month, Hannah Ross Crane, Senior Manager of Corporate Programs and Training at SAI, had the opportunity to speak on concrete solutions to these challenges at Responsible Business Alliance's (RBA) Annual Conference, participating in the “Case Studies: Moving the Needle on Forced Labor Through Prevention" session. Highlighting SAI’s work on free and fair recruitment and remediation through our SA8000 Standard, worker voice projects like MY Voice, and work with our partners at IOM - UN Migration on the IRIS Ethical Recruitment program, Hannah discussed methods for driving responsible recruitment and strengthening protections for workers through effective due diligence.
